The Clay County Middle School head baseball coach will develop skills, foster sportsmanship, manage practices/games, hand logistics (equipment/scheduling), ensure athlete safety and academic eligibility, and serve as a positive role model, communicating with staff, parents, and players to build a successful disciplined program that emphasizes teamwork and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach baseball fundamentals (hitting, fielding, pitching), create practice plans, and provide individual/team feedback for skill improvement.
  • Organize practices, manage equipment, develop team strategies, and coordinate with the athletic director for facilities and scheduling.
  • Supervise athletes at all times (practices, games, travel), monitor academic progress for eligibility, and ensure a safe environment.
  • Promote discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship; serve as a positive role model; and build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
  • Communicate with the athletic director, parents, and other coaches; maintain team rosters and updates on websites.
  • Adhere to all league, conference, and school district rules and regulations, including state certification requirements.
