What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Contract Clay Modeler, and why are they important?

A Contract Clay Modeler typically needs expertise in sculpting, a solid understanding of design and proportions, and relevant experience in automotive or industrial modeling, often supported by an associate degree or technical training. Familiarity with tools such as clay modeling equipment, 3D scanning technology, and CAD software is commonly required. Strong attention to detail, creativity, teamwork, and effective communication distinguish top performers in this role. These skills are essential for accurately translating design concepts into physical prototypes that guide product development.

What are Contract Clay Modelers?

Contract Clay Modelers are specialized professionals hired on a temporary or project basis to sculpt full-scale or scale models of designs, often for the automotive or industrial design industries. They use clay as the primary medium to create physical representations of concepts, which helps designers and engineers visualize and refine products before production. Contract Clay Modelers typically work closely with design teams, interpreting sketches and digital models into three-dimensional forms. Their expertise is crucial in the early stages of product development, allowing for adjustments and improvements before finalizing a design.

What are some common challenges faced by Contract Clay Modelers in automotive design studios?

Contract Clay Modelers often work on tight deadlines and must adapt quickly to frequent design changes from engineering and design teams. Balancing high attention to detail with speed, while ensuring the model accurately reflects the designer’s intent, can be challenging. Additionally, contract modelers may need to quickly integrate into new teams and workflows, requiring strong communication and collaboration skills. The ability to interpret 2D drawings into 3D physical models is another critical aspect of the role.

RevOps Manager

Auterion

Arlington, VA

$140K - $170K/yr

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement, PTO

Posted 21 days ago

Job description

Auterion is in hyper-growth mode, and we're building the revenue operating system to scale with us. We're hiring a Revenue Operations Manager to design and own it, building the GTM systems from the ground up and connecting pipeline, delivery, and revenue into infrastructure the whole company runs on.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to do career-defining work. You'll stand up the revenue operations function from scratch and own it as we scale, on a business model more interesting than most: hardware and software, sold to commercial and government customers worldwide.

You'll operate with real autonomy under the office of the CFO, with Finance as your closest partner and a direct line to the leaders running GTM. The job is equal parts technical and strategic: you'll architect the data model and automations, size pipeline coverage, and build the forecast leadership runs on.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Own the GTM tech stack end to end: HubSpot, its integration to NetSuite, and the BI layer on top.
  • Architect the CRM data model so every deal is structured for clean reporting and revenue recognition (contract type, legal entity, revenue segment, probability of win).
  • Stand up the pipeline-to-backlog-to-revenue bridge across entity, contract type, and product line.
  • Connect contract awards to delivery with a milestone tracker that feeds the revenue recognition schedule.
  • Enforce data quality at the point of entry through validation and automation, using modern tooling like n8n and Clay.
  • Keep data flowing across CRM, ERP, product catalog, and analytics through integrations you build and maintain.
  • Build the forecasting and pipeline models, and the executive and board reporting that runs on them.
  • Put data governance and an audit-ready trail in place for a clean month-end close and external or DCAA audits.
  • Maintain multi-entity, multi-currency workflows in the systems: entity attribution, intercompany flags, consistent FX logic.
  • Partner across finance, supply chain, operations, engineering, and the GTM team to align the full deal-to-delivery motion.
  • Standardize pipeline stages and qualification criteria with objective exit signals.
  • Lead enablement and change management as new processes and tools roll out, and earn the trust of sellers, finance, and leadership.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience building revenue or GTM operations at a high-growth technology company, with a track record of building systems from zero to one.
  • Deep, hands-on HubSpot architecture and administration (Salesforce experience a plus).
  • A systems-engineering orientation: you design data models, build CRM, ERP (NetSuite or similar), and BI integrations, and automate rather than work by hand.
  • Comfortable with BI and analytics tools (Looker, Tableau, Sigma, or similar) and SQL; Python a plus.
  • Experience with modern automation and AI tooling for GTM (n8n, Zapier, Clay, AI agents).
  • Strong forecasting, pipeline, and revenue analytics, including bookings, backlog, and revenue reconciliation.
  • A high-agency operator who brings structure to ambiguity and partners well across finance, GTM, supply chain, operations, and engineering.
  • Familiarity with multi-entity, multi-currency operating models and the data governance that keeps them clean.
  • Experience in a hardware, manufacturing, or combined hardware-and-software business strongly preferred.
  • Experience in defense or government environments (FAR/DFARS, ITAR) and government contract vehicles (IDIQ, OTA, BAA, FFP, CPFF) preferred.
  • US Citizenship required.

Base Salary Range: $140,000 - $170,000

Benefits

  • Flexible working hours
  • Stock Options
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Health Insurance (includes dental & vision)
  • Medical flex spending
  • Life Insurance
  • Retirement Plan - 401k with company match
  • Enhanced maternity & paternity leave
  • Learning and development opportunities
