General Function
What is CPCC Services Corporation - Youth Central:
Services Corporation is a 501(c)3 organization within Central Piedmont which supports the college's vision, mission, educational and financial goals through innovative businesses and services.
Youth Central is a small, diverse team dedicated to providing fun and engaging enrichment programs for 4th-12th graders while introducing them to the college environment at Central Piedmont.
This is a seasonal position from June 22nd- June 25th, 2026
General Function:
The Lab Assistant supports the delivery of youth enrichment programs during the Fall, Spring, &/or Summer session. This position assists instructors with classroom activities, helps facilitate a safe and engaging learning environment, and provides general administrative and operational support to ensure program success.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Engage students in a fun and positive manner
• Assists with administrative preparation of camps
• Organize student information and maintain accurate records for each camp session
• Track dietary restrictions and allergies to ensure safety
• Keep inventory of materials and supplies and clearly communicate the need for additional purchases
• Model professionalism and accountability by adhering to the dress code and college policies
• Responsibility and supervision of students during drop-off, pick-up, and classroom/camp time
• Willing and able to multi-task, be timely, and resolve conflicts as they arise
• At ease with communicating with students, parents/caregivers, and faculty/staff in a professional manner
• Required to complete the college's ongoing compliance training in a timely manner
• Report any notable concerns or incidents to the Assistant Director or Executive Director respectively.
• Additional duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED required; must be 18 years of age or older
• Strong organization, planning and communication skills
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability and willingness to be committed to working scheduled camps
• Dependable, approachable, patient, and sensitive to the needs of a diverse group of students
• Ability to travel to Central Piedmont campuses with reliable transportation
• Must be willing to conduct a background check
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with youth and families from diverse and cultural backgrounds either in a similar or related capacity
• CPR/Basic First Aid certification a plus
Additional Information
Working Days: Monday - Thursday

• Must be able to work on the assigned camp dates and times
• Ability to work well with individuals with diverse backgrounds and ages
• Excellent verbal skills, including public speaking and written communication.
• Highly positive attitude and strong work ethics.
• Ability to multitask, be persistent, and resolve conflicts as they arise.
• Comfort and ability to communicate with parents/caregivers and other supports in young people's lives.
Working Conditions:
Typical office/classroom/camp environment; frequently lifting and carrying items up to 50 lbs.; frequently twisting or bending at the waist or reaching overhead; potential traveling between buildings on campus or to other campuses; infrequently sitting at a desk or workstation using a computer display, keyboard, mouse and telephone.
