Sr. Tools Architect


On behalf of our client, Procom Services is searching for a Sr. Tools Architect for a contract opportunity in Dallas, TX.


Sr. Tools Architect Job Details


This role supports the technologies deployed within the company to provide tool related services for internal and external customers, including ITSM, Monitoring, SAM/AM/CMDB, infrastructure management, productivity, security, password vaulting, IAM, BI, dash-boarding, and general reporting.


The successful candidate will manage a small/medium sized design team; providing competencies in, design authority on larger or more complex solutions, demonstrating clear understanding of the customers' business and commercial requirements. They will be required to identify, design and deliver large complex architectures, strategies and specific solutions.


The specification and design of solutions to meet defined business needs in any public or private context.

The identification of concepts and their translation into implementable designs. The design or selection of components.

The retention of compatibility with enterprise and solution architectures, and the adherence to corporate standards within constraints of cost, security and sustainability.

Articulating the architectural vision, conceptualizing and developing alternative approaches and validating such approaches against requirements and assumptions.

Recommends/designs structures and tools for systems which meet business needs.

Delivers technical visualization of proposed solutions for approval by Management/Customer and execution by system engineers.

Translates logical designs into physical designs, and produces detailed design documentation.

 Maps work to user specification and removes errors and deviations from specification to achieve user-friendly processes.

Viewed as technical SME in tools utilized in a managed services environment

Public, private, and local cloud environments

Design of the overall tools architecture for clients and/or corporate-wide projects.

Full knowledge of the tooling environment and architecture.


Sr. Tools Architect Mandatory Skills


Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

10 - 15 years of relevant experience

ITIL v3

Exposure to Open Stack

Project and/or supervisory experience is a plus

Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills

Experience with VoIP and QoS.

Experience with ITSM, network, storage, security, and cloud Management Tools


Mobile Device Management - Zenprise/XenMobile.


Citrix Virtual Client Services and virtual application delivery.

IT Service Management (ITSM) products and technologies including ServiceNow, Remedy and Computer Associates.

End user service portals and service catalogs.

Single sign-on (SSO) and Identity Management (IDM).

Understanding of end user technologies and trends, including desktop application packaging, image management (SOE), productivity tools, asset management, BYOD.

Monitoring tools such as Spectrum, Solar Winds, Ehealth, Netbrain, Nagious, Zabbit, Zenoss

Asset Management tools such as SNOW, LanSweeper, ITCM

Infrastructure technologies such as Cisco ACI, NetApp, Red Hat Open Stack, and Chef

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, customer service, communications, and presentation skills.

Ability to serve as a technical mentor to others and guides less experienced engineers and technicians in resolving complex problems.
