Job description

We're looking for an experienced contract UX Designer who understands users and the market, synthesizes what we learn, and translates it into flows, wireframes, and polished screens. You'll have the opportunity to partner with talented UI artists and game designers, all while making an impact in kids and family's lives.
What You'll Do
  • Generative & evaluative research: plan and run interviews, usability tests, surveys, and diary studies with our users (parents and kids)
  • Market & competitive research: landscape scans, feature comparisons, and opportunity framing
  • Synthesis: turn qualitative and quantitative signal into insights, personas, journey maps, and clear design recommendations
  • UX design: information architecture, user flows, and low-to-mid-fidelity wireframes
  • Visual design: build high-fidelity designs within our design system, ready to hand off to engineering

Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience across UX research, interaction design, and visual design (portfolio or work samples required)
  • Experience designing and researching UX appropriate for children, teens, and families (age-appropriate methods, assent/consent, safeguarding)
  • Fluency with standard research methods and knowing when to use which
  • Ability to work independently and translate ambiguity into structured deliverables
  • Ability to execute visual design within an established design system, producing polished, on-brand screens
  • Proficiency in Figma, including working with components and design systems (flows, wireframes, and higher-fidelity screens)
  • Comfortable working in a remote, cross-functional team
  • 5+ years experience

Strong Pluses
  • Background in digital health, healthcare, or behavioral health
  • Experience designing for both B2C and clinician/caregiver audiences

Benefits
This is a contract role with a flexible schedule:
  • Duration: 6 months and renewable
  • Hourly commitment: 10-20 hours a week
  • Rate: $60-$90 per hour, commensurate with experience
