Our client is a private equity backed provider of exterior building services, including restoration, waterproofing, insulation, fireproofing, roofing, and maintenance. Headquartered in Denver with significant operations across the Western U.S. Mountain Region and growing operations in the Southwest and Southeast, the company has built a nearly 25 year reputation on repeat clients, referrals, and safe, on time, on budget project delivery. Following a recent private equity partnership, the company is positioned for continued growth through both organic initiatives and acquisitions.

The company is seeking a hands on Chief Financial Officer to serve as a strategic and operational partner to the CEO, COO, and ownership group. This is a confidential search; the company's identity will be disclosed to qualified, interested candidates as the process advances.

Position Overview

The CFO will lead the finance and accounting function while playing a central role in strengthening project level financial performance and control. This individual will design and execute systems and processes that improve visibility into project profitability, sharpen forecasting accuracy, and ensure consistent, disciplined financial reporting across the business. The role carries day to day responsibility for accounting, budgeting, capital planning, treasury, M&A analysis and integration, and financial reporting, and it partners closely with operations leadership on backlog, cash flow, and growth strategy.

What We're Looking ForMust Have
  • Deep, hands on expertise in GAAP and percentage of completion (POC) accounting, with a demonstrated ability to ensure its consistent and accurate application across projects and business units.
  • A track record of playing a key, hands on role in financial systems implementation and integration, whether as the CFO or in a senior finance capacity, to drive reporting accuracy, efficiency, and cross business visibility.
  • Commercial Construction or Commercial Building Services is a must
Preferred Experience
  • Multiple years of experience serving as a Chief Financial Officer, ideally within construction, restoration, building services, or a related project based industry.
  • Prior experience in a private equity backed company, including comfort operating in a fast paced, results driven, PE governed environment.
  • M&A experience, including deal evaluation, diligence, and post close integration.
Additional Responsibilities Include
  • Serving as a key partner to the executive team and PE sponsor on strategy, growth planning, and measurable goal tracking.
  • Owning backlog reporting and revenue forecasting, including signed contract value, change orders, start dates, and burn rates by project.
  • Managing the company's surety bonding program, including prequalification, capacity maintenance, and the surety relationship.
  • Establishing financial controls around subcontractor prequalification, vendor and material purchasing, lien waiver management, retainage, and payment terms.
  • Building and developing the finance team, KPIs, and technology platform to support operational decision making.
