Job description

Contract Business Analyst – Sales & CRM Systems

The Business Analyst will work with all members of the Sales Systems Administration team to implement and support projects and systems for all Global Distribution personnel at Client Vance. The primary focus of this position is the administration, enhancement, and support of Sales and CRM systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing detailed business and data analysis
  • Documenting business and functional requirements
  • Developing end user documentation
  • Writing and executing test plans and cases
  • Answering user questions
  • Resolving system issues/problems in a timely manner

The individual must be motivated, well organized, be sensitive to project and production deadlines, have a quick learning ability and be able to work both independently and in a team environment. They should have a demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and to handle multiple tasks at one time.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with other members of the team to perform data analysis, solutions design, testing, and release management across multiple systems
  • Comply with Sarbanes-Oxley and other regulatory requirements including user access and maintenance of key records.
  • Assist team members in evaluating and implementing vendor tools and processes.
  • Ability to work with non-technical end users to interpret and document user requirements and develop functional specifications
  • Participate in meetings with technical groups to ensure that all design questions (e.g., application security, data feeds, etc.) are addressed through the business analysis process
  • Ensure the timely and accurate processing of internal client requests. This includes maintaining standard Application support documentation and supporting the production response team
  • Develops a "partnering" relationship with clients through continuous business education.
  • Serves as subject matter expert process, and/or operational proxy for end users in targeted areas of focus
  • Manage operationally focused projects (e.g., non-political, data/workflow oriented)
  • Participates in other Global Distribution support responsibilities as assigned
  • Develops and execute test plans and test cases.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally
  • Knowledge of software development and the system implementation life cycle
  • Knowledge of client-server, database, system design, and technical architecture concepts
  • Basic understanding of data modeling
  • Strong direct database SQL query/analysis abilities
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • 7+ years demonstrated experience with writing business user requirements and functional specifications
  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM system
  • Knowledge of Transfer Agency data, processing, and sales reporting/feeds
  • Experience with SS&C/DST SalesConnect service a plus
  • Financial Services industry knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence Tools a plus
  • Knowledge of JIRA agile development software a plus
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience
