As experts in healthcare IT experts, Apex is committed to building systems for healthcare organizations to seamlessly communicate and exchange data across different systems and devices. 

Summary:

Conducts laboratory research focused on viral structure, replication, and interaction with host cells in support of vaccine and therapeutic development. 


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conduct viral infection assays in cell culture models. 
  • Analyze virus-host interactions and gene expression profiles. 
  • Support assay optimization for drug screening. 
  • Maintain experimental records and laboratory inventory. 
  • Work in BSL-3/4 conditions as required. 
  • The contractor will be expected to execute their assigned tasks, and to share their findings with other members of the project team. 
  • The Contractor is expected to write reports and publications and present their findings in meetings. 

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Skilled in PCR, transfection, and microscopy. 
  • Knowledge of host-pathogen interface. 
  • Excellent attention to detail in data recording. 
  • Shall be knowledgeable in a relevant field of the life sciences.  
  • The contractor shall have demonstrated their potential ability to independently plan, execute, analyze, and report on their research through their graduate dissertation.  
  • Possesses good written and oral communication skills.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in virology, biology, or biomedical sciences. 
  • Minimum 2+ years in virology or related biological sciences. 
  • Experience in viral propagation and tittering methods. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance eligibility, with no access to classified information, is required. 
  • Enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACTIVE SECRET is preferred 
  • Master's degree preferred 

Pay and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $86,000 - $112,000.
