Job description

A unique opportunity awaits for a skilled audiologist to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students in an educational environment during a short-term, 12-week assignment. In this contract role, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team focused on meeting the needs of students with hearing impairments. This onsite-only position runs from August 31, 2026, through Thanksgiving break.
Key Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) or Master's Degree in Audiology required
  • Current Michigan Audiology License
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A)
  • Preferred: 3-5 years of pediatric and/or educational audiology experience
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct audiological assessments and DHH evaluations to determine students' auditory and communication skills
  • Collaborate effectively with clinical audiologists and ENT providers to obtain medical documentation for eligibility and assistive technology clearances
  • Advise and support families in following up on clinical recommendations
  • Interpret evaluation results for teachers, parents, and school staff, enhancing educational planning and classroom strategies
  • Provide consultations to support staff and families regarding the impact of hearing loss on learning
  • Participate as a member of the Early On team, serving DHH children from birth to age 3, including home visits when necessary
