Job description

Job Overview Guy Carpenter is looking for individuals with reinsurance contract drafting experience to join our expanding North American Contracts Team. The level of experience will determine your role (Contract Associate, Senior Contract Associate, or Senior Contract Specialist) and title (Assistant Vice President, Vice President, or Senior Vice President). Location & Work Environment We offer a hybrid work schedule for our offices in New York, NY; Edina, MN; Seattle, WA; and Philadelphia, PA, with consideration for other U.S.-based locations. Remote work is an option for candidates with significant reinsurance experience. Our current summer schedule includes a midโ€day release on Fridays. Professional Development We provide opportunities to expand your skills and gain the professional experience needed to achieve your career goals, including direct career paths into team management or into the Global Contract Consultant team, our group of reinsurance contract experts. Responsibilities Manage the complete lifecycle of a reinsurance contract for assigned accounts, including drafting the contract language to reflect the intent of negotiations between the client and reinsurers, initiating the contract transmittal, and coordinating execution of all final documentation. Build relationships with reinsurance brokers and clients and answer any contractโ€related inquiries on accounts as needed. Provide reinsurance contract analysis independently or in collaboration with the Global Contract Consultant team, including receiving training on and having access to Guy Carpenter's AIโ€assisted contract analysis tool. Support the development of the team for future success by mentoring and facilitating colleagues new to the industry through our Contract Drafter Academy. Lead and/or collaborate with colleagues to complete projects on behalf of the Contracts Team, including creating and presenting training on reinsurance industry topics and developing workflow tools to aid in the efficiency and accuracy of our work product. Qualifications 2+ years of reinsurance experience. Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in the field. Strong communication and negotiation skills (both written and verbal), ability to independently manage and prioritize tasks, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Preferred qualifications Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designation and/or law degree. Knowledge of contract law, contract provisions, reinsurance concepts and principles, basic regulatory controls, and general business trends.
