Job description

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role
  • Lead Developmental projects as the System Integration Engineer for build, verification and delivery of military vehicles to the customer.
  • Plan the physical and functional integration activity by developing and maintaining Prototype/Mockup vehicle build schedules.

- Develop, maintain and execute prototype fabrication and build plans.
- Assist in prototype hardware procurement.
- Initiate shop work orders.
- Coordinate SSE assistance as necessary to support prototype shop activities.
  • Act as primary interface between sub-system engineering and the prototype build shop.
  • Responsible for vehicle level system integration, verification, and problem reporting/resolution.
  • Develop and foster a cohesive build team environment between prototype shop mechanics, sub system engineers, and system engineers.
  • Direct mechanics in the assembly of subsystems onto military vehicles using applicable models and drawings.
  • Monitor the Engineering Bill of Materials (BOM) maturity and Engineering Release Plan execution.
  • Track material receipts and address "late to need" issues.
  • Generate Engineering Problem Reports to document fabrication, installation, and/or functionality issues discovered during the prototype build.

Qualifications Sought
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • Experience with Teamcenter, Vis Mockup and Oracle Systems preferred.
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills.

Additional Information / Desired Experience:
  • Previous experience working on ground combat vehicles desired.
  • This position may require the candidate to be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles. Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space)
  • Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies to the position. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills is required. Works well in team and individually.
  • Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required.
