Job description

Travel CT Technologist (Contract)
Location: Clinton, IA
Term: 13-week assignment (potential for extension)
Shift: 3x12-hour shifts

  • Schedule: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Compensation:

  • Taxable Wages: $792/week
  • Non-Taxable Stipend: $1,246/week
  • Total Gross Weekly Pay (Based on 36 hours): $2,038

Position Overview:

This daytime contract CT Technologist position is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in diagnostic imaging who are seeking a flexible, travel-based opportunity. The technologist will perform high-quality CT scans and ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify imaging orders and ensure correct diagnostic procedures are conducted
  • Gather prior exams and relevant clinical data for radiologist reference
  • Prepare and educate patients about procedures, obtain informed consent
  • Accurately position patients and utilize immobilization devices as needed
  • Select appropriate exposure settings and operate CT equipment per protocol
  • Maintain a clean and stocked work environment
  • Evaluate image quality and report equipment issues for repair or calibration
  • Implement radiation safety procedures using proper protective gear
  • Perform venous access for contrast injection and monitor patients for reactions
  • Recognize urgent findings and communicate wet/stat results to appropriate providers
  • Assist in onboarding and instruction of students or new technologists as assigned
  • Stay current with professional standards through continued education and association participation

Required Qualifications:

  • ARRT certification with CT registry
  • Valid state license (must be active at time of hire)
  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
  • Minimum of 1 year of CT experience
  • Strong working knowledge of CT protocols, safety standards, and contrast procedures
