Job description

client is seeking an Ansible Automation Engineer to join their team in a contract-to-hire capacity. This individual will lead infrastructure automation initiatives across Linux and cloud environments, helping reduce manual operational work through scalable, repeatable automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions using Ansible and Terraform
  • Build scalable automation frameworks for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployments
  • Automate processes across Linux (Red Hat/OpenShift), cloud, and infrastructure platforms
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, DevOps, and Engineering teams to identify and implement automation opportunities
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing automation workflows, playbooks, and pipelines
  • Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation and automation standards
  • Support enterprise infrastructure modernization initiatives in a hybrid cloud environment

Requirements
Required Skills
  • Strong hands-on experience with Ansible (AAP, playbooks, roles, modules, automation workflows)
  • Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Linux administration experience, including:
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
    • OpenShift
  • Experience supporting cloud platforms:
    • Azure
    • AWS
    • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Scripting experience with:
    • YAML
    • Python
  • Experience supporting infrastructure automation, configuration management, and deployment automation
  • Strong documentation and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a highly technical, non-customer-facing environment
