Job description

About the role

AIG is a leading insurance provider committed to delivering exceptional service to customers worldwide. As we continue to optimize our global operating model, we are seeking a highly skilled Contract Governance Lead to join our Global Sourcing & Procurement Services (GSPS) organization to oversee AIG's primary third-party Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) vendor relationship.

This role will serve as the primary owner of contract and financial governance, ensuring compliance with complex commercial terms. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, confident managing senior stakeholders, and capable of navigating sophisticated fee structures and contractual frameworks to drive value, mitigate risk, and ensure operational excellence.

Key responsibilities:

Contract & Commercial Management

  • Own end-to-end governance of the BPO contract, including interpretation and enforcement of terms and conditions

  • Develop deep expertise in complex pricing models, fee schedules, and billing mechanisms

  • Validate invoices against contractual terms, identifying discrepancies and driving resolution

  • Track and manage contractual obligations, deliverables, and key milestones

Contract Change & Risk Management

  • Lead the review and execution of contract amendments and change orders

  • Partner with legal on complex contractual issues and dispute resolution

  • Maintain audit readiness and ensure compliance with internal policies and controls

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a strategic liaison between internal business units, finance, legal, and the vendor

  • Manage and influence senior stakeholders across multiple functions

  • Drive alignment on contract interpretation, issue resolution, and performance expectations

Financial Oversight & Value Realization

  • Monitor spend against contract baselines and forecasts

  • Identify cost optimization opportunities and challenge vendor assumptions where appropriate

  • Support business cases, change orders, and commercial negotiations

  • Ensure alignment between contracted services and realized business value

Governance & Performance Management

  • Establish and lead governance routines (e.g., QBRs, operational reviews, escalation forums)

  • Manage and track KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics

  • Hold vendor accountable for service delivery and contractual commitments

  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, including operational, financial, and compliance risks

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in contract management, vendor governance, procurement, or consulting

  • Experience managing large-scale outsourcing or BPO vendors

  • Strong ability to interpret and operationalize complex contracts, including pricing and commercial constructs

  • Demonstrated experience managing senior stakeholders and navigating challenging conversations

  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and financial acumen

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred

The base salary range for this position is $88,000-$103,000 which is based upon the assumption that the position is located in New York City. However, the final base salary offered to a candidate may be higher or lower than the range depending on the candidate's specific work location and other potential factors. This position is also eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
