Description
Flexaust, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of hose and ducting products serving a wide range of commercial and industrial markets. We are seeking a motivated Continuous Improvement Engineer to support manufacturing operations through equipment improvements, process optimization, and engineering project implementation.
Responsibilities
• Work with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes and operational efficiency.
• Evaluate existing equipment and processes and implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce downtime.
• Design equipment modifications and process improvements using SolidWorks.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, PLC, and process-related issues and develop practical solutions.
• Build, assemble, install, and modify manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Utilize welding, machining, and fabrication skills to support equipment improvements and projects.
• Manage improvement projects from concept through implementation.
• Create engineering drawings, layouts, and documentation to support manufacturing operations.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, automation projects, and facility improvements.
• Travel as needed to support projects, training, and supplier visits.
Requirements
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of manufacturing, process, or mechanical engineering experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and mechanical design principles.
• Experience improving manufacturing equipment and production processes.
• Understanding PLC programming concepts and the ability to read and troubleshoot ladder logic.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.
• Experience with equipment assembly, machine installation, machining, welding, and fabrication.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
