Job description

About the Role:
To provide daily support to our Continuous Improvement effort related to tracking and assisting projects, auditing improvements, and data collection assistance.
Qualifications (Required & Preferred):
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (R); AS or BS in Quality, Engineering, or Business (P)
Experience: 3-5 years in quality, manufacturing, or manufacturing engineering
Areas of Knowledge: Quality improvement, manfuacturing processes and equipment, Lean Manufacturing processes (5S, 6S, TPM, Six Sigma, etc.), and Statistical Process Control (all P)
Skills: Basic math, strong organizational skills, strong verbal and writing communication skills, general computer (MS Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) - (all R); MS Project (P)
Role Responsibilities:
  • General: Understand the Haynes International Quality System requirements; understand the basics of Lean Manufacturing tools; perform all directed work in a timely manner; understand basic product and process flows to enable product support.
  • Quality Assurance Support: Perform audits of completed projects to verify results are sustained; perform internal audits as directed; utilize internal procedures and systems to monitor processes for off-quality trends.
  • Continuous Improvement Support: Provide monthly updates on projects; collect data on projects; work as directed to validate data for projects; assist on TPM projects; provide data analysis; work with outside vendors on improvement projects; assist project leaders on improvement projects within the manufacturing areas while involving all appropriate personnel.
  • Backup Support: Provide backup support to Quality and/or Manufacturing Engineering as directed.
  • Communication: Effectively monitor, document and report status/activity/progress in area of responsibility; provide required input into the monthly report in a timely manner; effectively communicate project status on a monthly or as needed basis; effectively communicate with project leaders on findings during project reviews.
  • Project Management: Participate in assigned Continuous Improvement projects to ensure annual commitments are met; understand and effectively update project database to ensure accuracy.
