Responsibilities

Continuing medical education promotes continuous improvement in patient care by providing high-quality education for physicians. The overall goal of the program is to

  Increase professional knowledge

  Improve professional competence, performance, and patient outcomes and

  Expand and organize systemwide continuing medical education.

  Assist physicians in obtaining necessary continuing medical education for re-licensure, re-credentialing, and re-certification

Responsible for administrative oversight of Continuing Medical Education at Piedmont Healthcare and ensuring program objectives are achieved, and accreditation standards are met.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in a relevant field such as Education, Public Health, Nursing, or Healthcare Administration required

Work Experience

  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in direct continuing medical education for a hospital, health system or similar required
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities, and work independently to make decisions required
  • Effective leadership, writing, verbal, and presentation skills required 
  • Must have demonstrated experience in facilitating improvement through effective use of teambuilding, physician partnering, and responding to changes in the environment
  • Must demonstrate expertise in accreditation and regulatory compliance (continuing medical education/continuing professional development or related field) with experience writing a successful accreditation self-study report
  • Expertise in applying adult education principles and introducing effective approaches to educational planning, instructional design, and evaluate and outcomes measurement required
