For this position we prefer window treatment experience, however, experience in other trades is welcome. The individual in this role is responsible for ensuring professional installation for assigned projects, and communicating efficiently (written and in-person) with crews and leadership.

Position Description
As a key member of the Installation team, the Lead Shade Installer reports to the Operations Field Manager and assumes an important role in the installation of our products in commercial and residential environments. The Lead Shade Installer is accountable for quality installation of our products, safety in the sites, proper usage of tools, cleanliness of work environment, and providing communication to the Operations Field Manager of any job site issues. This is an in-person position.
Our company focuses on 3 essential products for this area:
  • Window Treatment - (Mecho, Somfy, Hunter Douglas, etc.)
  • Sound Treatment, using wall upholstery - (FabriTrak)
  • PVC Stretch Ceilings - (Barrisol)

Position Key Criteria/Requirements
  • Inclined to working with power tools, hand tools, and at various heights.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs. overhead
  • Able to work on feet for extended periods of time
  • Able to work flexible hours, early starts, late finishes, and weekends based on active project schedules
  • Able to travel 2 to 3 weeks at a time.
  • Strong attention to detail; Supervise for quality control
  • Keep detailed notes of all work that is done and report progress to superior
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients
  • Maintain and implement all safety measures and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, foster team mentality within crews
  • Receptive to a continuous learning environment with consistent, hands-on training year-round

We expect the foreperson to:
  • Keep detailed notes of all work completed and report progress to superiors.
  • Maintain and implement all safety measures and procedures.
  • Supervise and manage a crew of 1-4 installers while organizing, planning, and executing job assignments.
  • Utilize a specific training system to develop the skills of new employees.
  • Ensure all materials are high-quality and products are built in compliance with Contexture specifications.
  • Comply with Contexture's safety policies which meet and exceed OSHA standards.
  • Work independently and as part of a team and foster team mentality within crews.
  • Lead an installation team.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Be receptive to a continuous learning environment with consistent, hands-on training year-round.
  • Perform all duties as assigned.

Position Key Technical Competencies
  • Proficient with basic hand and electric carpentry related tools
  • Ability to identify unsafe working conditions
  • Desire to improve and engage in daily tasks
  • Good written and verbal English skills
  • Spanish / bilingual skills are preferred but not required
  • Must have the ability to work skillfully with both hands constantly
  • Be able to work 40-50 hours / week
  • Be able to travel, out of state, potentially 2-3 weeks at a time
  • Excellent math skills including using a tape measure and angles
  • MUST pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
  • MUST have a clean driving record

The ideal candidate:
  • 5+ years of experience in the construction industry installing roller shades and window treatments preferred, however other experience in other trades will be considered.
  • Has good written and verbal English skills
  • Possesses basic computer skills (MS Word and Excel)
  • Possesses excellent math skills.
