Ezekiel Ministries is a faith-based nonprofit organization serving children and families throughout Richland and Lexington Counties through life-changing mentoring relationships. We mobilize and equip caring Christian adults to build consistent relationships with children through group mentoring and one-to-one mentoring. Through these relationships, children experience encouragement, belonging, practical skill development, academic support, and the love of Jesus. Our work brings together churches, volunteers, donors, schools, families, and community partners around a shared vision of helping children flourish and reach their God-given potential.
Internship Overview
The Marketing & Communications Intern will work directly with the Director of Marketing & Communications to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, storytelling, digital communications, and brand management. This internship is designed to give a student meaningful professional experience across multiple areas of communications while contributing to the day-to-day storytelling and visibility of a growing nonprofit organization. The intern will have opportunities to develop a portfolio of real-world work while learning how an organization strategically communicates with donors, volunteers, churches, families, and the broader community.
What You Will Learn To Do
The intern will receive guidance and professional development while supporting projects including:
  • Content & Media Capture: Help identify and capture stories from mentoring programs, events, volunteers, and community partners through photography, video, interviews, and written content; organize and maintain Ezekiel Ministries' photo, video, and digital content library.
  • Social Media: Assist with creating, scheduling, and publishing social media content; develop captions and visual assets; help identify engaging stories and content opportunities; and learn to evaluate basic engagement and performance data.
  • Writing & Storytelling: Draft and edit content for email newsletters, impact stories, press releases, website updates, social media, and other external communications.
  • Graphic Design: Create and adapt branded graphics and materials for digital campaigns, events, fundraising initiatives, mentor recruitment, and organizational communications. Website Support: Learn and assist with basic website content updates, page editing, image management, and maintaining accurate and engaging web content.
  • Campaign Support: Collaborate with the Director of Marketing & Communications on communications campaigns that increase awareness, recruit mentors, engage supporters, and share the impact of Ezekiel Ministries.
  • Marketing Systems: Gain experience with content calendars, project workflows, brand standards, digital asset organization, and other systems used by a professional marketing and communications team.

Qualifications
We are looking for a student who is eager to learn, create, and contribute. An ideal candidate is someone who:
  • Is pursuing a degree in journalism, public relations, advertising, visual communications, marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills Is creative, curious, organized, and willing to take initiative
  • Has an interest in storytelling, social media, photography, video, graphic design, or digital communications
  • Has basic experience with-or a willingness to learn-design and digital communication tools Is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
  • Is able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrates professionalism and good judgment when representing the organization and interacting with children, families, volunteers, and community partners
  • Is comfortable working within and supporting the mission of a Christian nonprofit organization

Prior professional experience is not required. We are looking for someone with strong potential who wants to develop their skills through meaningful, hands-on experience.
