Job Summary/Description:

FOX 12 Oregon, the #1 local news station in the Portland market, is hiring a Morning Content Manager to help guide coverage and production for Portland's award-winning, top-rated morning newscast, Good Day Oregon. The Morning Content Manager will oversee all aspects of the 6.5-hour broadcast, coordinate the largest morning news team in the market, and provide dynamic leadership to all work groups, while working with the rest of the News Management Team to set and fulfill goals for the whole newsroom.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

- Managing content and coverage for the morning daypart on broadcast and streaming.
- Working with the Executive Producer and Producers to craft compelling, urgent, and topical newscasts to maintain FOX 12's position as the market leader in the morning.
- Working closely with the News, Weather, and Traffic Anchors to help deliver the best show possible
- Working with reporters and field crews daily on content development strategies, storytelling techniques, and ideas for active live shots
- Fostering a team environment, and maintaining a positive, inclusive culture in the newsroom
- The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and administrative skills, flexibility to work an early morning schedule that could vary depending on the demands of each unique news day, and a passion for coaching and growing journalists.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism or related field preferred, or equivalent training and/or experience.
- At least 3 years of experience as a newsroom manager or leader
- Proven track record of managing a large team across many work groups
- Strong editorial, writing, and storytelling skills and working knowledge of newsroom systems, like ENPS
- This position requires the employee to be able to drive for business needs. A valid driver's license and clean driving record (MVR) is required.
