 part-time between 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 900 lawyers in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. We are currently seeking a Practice Management Intern in our in our Client Value & Practice Management department, reporting directly to the Director of Practice Management - Public Law & Policy. The Practice Management team is an integral part of the firm focusing on internal and external needs and promoting overall operational efficiency within the Public Law & Policy practice. The Practice Management Intern will have the ability to gain an understanding of the behind-the-scenes operations at a lobbying and law firm with an opportunity for mentorship and professional growth.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Support practice management projects by conducting research, compiling data, and creating reports and charts.
  • Help maintain accurate and up-to-date tracking charts, including recruiting lists.
  • Update content for internal website.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding team members.
  • Format and proofread internal communications and presentations.
  • Maintain team calendar.
  • Assist with weekly and monthly reporting tasks.
  • Assists with other operational/administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, two years of college preferred
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook Word and PowerPoint
  • Established attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize among competing tasks under pressure and time constraints
  • Ability to work in a team setting and collaborate with peers and superiors
  • Good judgment and a strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and loyalty
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of client, firm and office information and adhering to the Firmโ€™s Core Values

The hourly salary range for this position in Washington, DC is $19.50 to $22.50.
