About the Role
The Digital Website Content Writer will work closely with our cross-functional project team focused on building and improving the our client Connecticut's websites and digital assets. Your work will involve assessing customer needs and creating high impact content for web pages, digital applications, chatbots, user guides, and other customer-facing assets. An ideal candidate should know content inside and out - how to structure it, how to write it, how to apply it in user-focused page design, and how to track its effectiveness. You must be an expert copywriter who knows how to communicate user benefits over features. And you must also show a high level of mastery of content taxonomy, SEO, service design, and optimizing customer journeys.
You will need to have a deep understanding of our audience and be able to clearly communicate how your content will address their needs. In addition, the candidate should show a command of modern content standards, and be able to clearly communicate content issues and solutions to various levels of stakeholders.
Experiences Required for This Role
Website Content Writing - At least 3 years of measurable experience in the following:
โ€ข Developing modern content for large websites with multiple departments and sizable portfolios of services, informational assets, and applications
โ€ข Creating high level content strategies that focus on logical taxonomies, streamlined user journeys, and human-focused design
โ€ข Planning for the discovery, analysis, segmenting, creation, delivery, tracking, and governance of content
โ€ข Aligning content with business goals, stakeholder objectives, and user needs
โ€ข Inventorying and auditing of content on a local or enterprise level
โ€ข Copywriting - a high proficiency in writing for real people and motivating them to action

Administrative Considerations
The Website Content Writer will work as part of an enterprise digital service team. They will work iteratively on multiple website projects using agile sprints. Work will be assigned based on items in the product backlog associated with Website Improvements. These tasks may be adjusted, reduced, or expanded as the project progresses through various phases. The contract employee shall be expected to maintain and provide written documentation on any work performed in conjunction with this engagement.
The engagement will be for a term of up to 12 months. All work will be performed in eight (8) hour shifts, Monday to Friday, excluding State holidays. If workflow dictates an on-site presence is not needed, consultant may work remotely. All extended remote work will need approval by Chief Digital Officer or the designated manager. Payment will be on a time and material basis and paid only for hours worked.
Use of State Resources: The contractor will be provided with a virtual desktop environment that will allow for the contractor to use their own computer to access and engage with State systems.
Security/Privacy Considerations: Information accessible by the contractor may be sensitive, confidential, or subject to the Privacy Act and/or HIPAA considerations. Contractor personnel must be familiar with and comply with the provisions of appropriate regulations and/or instructions. Signing of a confidentiality agreement will be required. Daily sign-in to the facility may be required. The contractor employee must always display an access badge while present in state facilities. A background check will be required.
