Job description

AWS Technical Content Experience (TCX) is looking for a manager to lead our Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) Reviews and Audits team within the Content Excellence organization. In this role, you will lead a recently-formed team of technical content practitioners to establish a quality operation: reviewing hundreds to thousands of contributions per week, fixing what falls short, and surfacing patterns that help our content systems get better over time.
The right person for this role has strong editorial and operational instincts in equal measure. You know what great content looks like, and you notice quickly when something is off. You can see patterns across a high volume of reviews and know how to package that signal into feedback that drives improvement in upstream systems and processes. You build operations that deliver consistently, with SLAs that are realistic, staffing models that don't burn people out, and the flexibility to absorb spikes without breaking.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead and develop a team of content reviewers; establish the operational programs, rhythms, and culture needed to evolve a new function
• Design staffing and capacity models that run lean day-to-day but scale for seasonal spikes without burning out the team
• Establish and maintain SLAs that balance business commitments, risk mitigation, and team sustainability
• Identify patterns in content review results and deliver clear, actionable feedback to the teams managing content systems and governance programs
• Define and track operations metrics that tell a clear story about the value the team is contributing to customers and AI agents consuming content
• Partner with peer and stakeholder teams to operationalize quality standards and rubrics into repeatable, measurable review workflows
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure content review findings drive upstream system improvements
• Document and present quality and risk assessments to senior leaders, articulating accepted and mitigated risks across the content ecosystem
• Hire and grow the team as the function evolves to meet rapidly evolving needs of the business
About the team
The TCX Content Excellence team is where content strategy meets execution. We establish content standards and ensure content quality across AWS, while building solutions that enable content management at scale. As architects, builders, and content stewards, we define the vision for great content, create the systems that enable it, and close critical gaps through intelligent content lifecycle management. Our work makes content a strategic advantage for AWS customers and the teams who create it.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of editor, content strategist, technical writer, or content developer experience
- 3+ years of people leadership experience
- Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
- Experience evaluating and remediating AI-generated content, with the ability to identify systemic quality patterns
- Experience with prompt engineering and content governance at scale (e.g., style guides, taxonomies, structured content)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience presenting to senior leadership
- Background in technical documentation, developer content, or other cloud services content
- Experience building and running high-volume, SLA-driven content quality operations at scale
- Experience with SEO, AEO, and/or GEO
