Overview

Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Marketing Manager to supporet the development and execution of strategic marketing and communications initiatives. This role will ideally be based on the west coast and will require travel.

This role is responsible for strengthening brand presence, supporting business development and pursuit efforts, and clearly communicating the company's capabilities, values, and project successes to clients, partners, employees, and the broader industry. This position serves as the primary marketing lead and combines strategic planning with hands-on execution. The ideal candidate brings experience in construction, engineering, or professional services marketing, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable working directly with executive leadership, operations, and business development teams.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities and focal points of this role include the following:

  • Marketing Strategy & Operations

    • Supports the MarCom team in implementing overall marketing strategy goals and objectives for advancing Shimmick's brand visibility
    • Leads the creation and ongoing development of marketing materials including one-sheets, decks, and playbooks.
    • Partners cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging, brand alignment and effective marketing strategies across the organization.
    • Maintain marketing plans maximizing incremental gains to meet overarching business goals
    • Maintain marketing data and generate regular reports to support leadership decision-making.
    • Manage external vendors, consultants, designers, and photographers.

    Brand Management & Messaging

    • Maintain and evolve the company's brand identity, messaging, and visual standards.
    • Ensure consistent brand representation across all marketing and communications materials.
    • Develop and refine value propositions and messaging aligned with target markets and clients.

    Communications & Content Development

    • Oversee internal and external communications, including all-employee meetings, company announcements, press releases, and executive messaging.
    • Develop content highlighting project wins, milestones, safety performance, innovation, and company culture.
    • Coordinate messaging that supports corporate initiatives, market positioning, and business objectives.
    • Lead presentation development for:
      • All-employee meetings and internal communications.
      • Executive leadership presentations.
      • Investor-facing presentations and corporate overviews.
      • Client-facing and business development presentations.
      • Industry conferences, panels, and speaking engagements.
    • Ensure presentations are clear, compelling, on-brand, and tailored to the intended audience.
    • Partner with executives, business development, and operations teams to translate complex information into effective visual and narrative presentations.

    Digital Marketing & Social Media

    • Maintain and optimize the company website, ensuring timely updates to branding and organizational content.
    • Oversee social media strategy, content planning, posting, and engagement.
    • Track and analyze digital performance metrics and recommend improvements.

    Public Relations & Industry Engagement

    • Coordinate media relations, trade publication content, and award submissions.
    • Support participation in industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
    • Implement public relations and social media strategies to ensure real-time publication of content, including announcements, awards, events, and crisis.
    • Assist with preparation of investor-facing materials, including earnings presentations, fact sheets, corporate overviews, and website content.
    • Strengthen the company's visibility and reputation within the heavy civil and infrastructure markets.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field + 6 years of relevant marketing and/or communications experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and experience.
  • Strong background in digital marketing, social media, and executing integrated online campaigns.
  • Deep understanding of B2B social strategy, especially on LinkedIn and other platforms where industry stakeholders are highly active.
  • Strong storytelling, content development, and presentation skills.
  • Strong operational skills with experience building and managing foundational infrastructure such as campaign calendars, planning processes, and repeatable workflows.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage several projects concurrently in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, and adhere to evolving deadlines.
  • Motivated, entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently, while also skilled at building strong internal relationships and consensus on initiatives.

Preferred

  • Experience in heavy civil, infrastructure, transportation, or engineering/construction environments.
  • Strong project management skills and experience.
  • Experience developing complex and strategic communications that educate large audiences.
  • Familiarity with public-sector procurement and alternative delivery pursuits (CMAR, Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build).
  • Experience with CRM systems, digital asset management tools, or proposal management software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (or similar tools).
  • Experience managing websites, social media platforms, and digital analytics.

The salary range for this position is between $110,000 - $160,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.
