Job description


The Content and Multimedia Specialist supports strategic communications and commercial business priorities for ABS across a broad range of service lines for our market sectors by developing clear, engaging and impactful content across written, audio and video formats. This position is part of the Corporate Marketing and Communications department at the ABS headquarters in Houston, Texas..
This position partners with subject matter experts, business development, marketing and communications, and senior stakeholders to plan, produce, edit and refine content that supports brand visibility, thought leadership and commercial goals. The role has a strong emphasis on writing, editing and proofing, with growing responsibility for podcast, social media and video content development and production.
What You Will Do:
  • Collaborate with content experts, marketers, BD professionals, and external influencers and industry experts to produce relevant content for marketing purposes. Partner with subject matter experts, marketers, business development professionals and external contributors to create relevant, accurate and commercially useful content for target audiences. Help manage content planning, development and promotion workflow across multiple initiatives.
  • Develop and produce content across channels including articles, press releases, email copy, web content, social media, case studies, white papers, specialty publications, scripts and other marketing and communications materials.
  • Lead Content development from concept to completion by gathering inputs, interviewing stakeholders, shaping story angles, drafting content, managing reviews and delivering final assets on deadline.
  • Write, edit and proof copy across formats and channels while adapting tone, structure and level of technical detail for different audience and business needs.
  • Support communications planning and editorial workflow by helping manage content calendars, intake, production schedules and review processes across multiple initiatives.
  • Translate technical and business information into clear, audience-focused content that reflects agreed business priorities and supports broader marketing and communications objectives. Work with digital marketing and communications colleagues to optimize content for visibility, engagement, search performance and campaign effectiveness, where appropriate.
  • Track and report on content performance using agreed metrics such as engagement, traffic, reach and other relevant indicators to help improve future content decisions.
  • Support podcast production and related audio content including topic development, guest coordination, research, script or rundown preparation, recording logistics, editing and publishing support.
  • Support video content production including story development, scriptwriting, interview preparation, production coordination, basic editing oversight or hands-on editing, and delivery of final assets for internal or external use.
  • Conduct market, competitor and industry research to identify timely topics, emerging issues and content opportunities relevant to ABS audiences.
  • Maintain editorial quality and consistency by ensuring accuracy, clarity, alignment with brand standards and adherence to internal review requirements.

What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
  • Minimum undergraduate degree qualification. Media, Journalism, English or Marketing degree preferred
  • A minimum two (2) to four (4) years marketing or related experience in content creation

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong writing and editing skills, proofing and storytelling skills, preferably supported by a background in journalism, communications, editorial work or a related field. Ability to adapt style, tone and voice across a range of content types.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and evolving requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently while moving complex projects forward on deadline.
  • Excellent interviewing, research and information-gathering skills, with the ability to develop strong content from complex or incomplete source material.
  • A dual-minded approach: Highly creative and excellent writer but also process-driven with ability to think scale and rely on data to make decisions.
  • Ability to understand technical topics quickly and translate them into clear, accurate and engaging content for business and industry audiences. Strong editorial judgement and close attention to detail, accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborative working style with the confidence and professionalism to engage senior stakeholders when needed.
  • Experience developing or supporting thought leadership, media relations, publications, content strategy or related communications initiatives.
  • Experience with podcast, audio or video content production is preferred, including scripting, coordination, editing or publishing.
  • Familiarity with content performance metrics and the ability to use data and feedback to improve content effectiveness is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.
