How You'll Make an Impact
  • Controls chemical process and operates all related equipment using the distributed control system (DCS). Follows work instructions (WI) and Product Quality Control Plans (PQCP). In addition, may operate energy center and/or control room equipment and processes.
  • Adjusts controls to regulate variables for production units and/or energy station, if appropriate. Performs set up procedures to prepare systems for operation.
  • Monitors and troubleshoots the process to maintain required operating conditions. Conducts in process Quality Control testing.
  • Performs minor maintenance on process and support equipment in both production and energy center.
  • Depending on organization and location, may use business management system to enter work orders and requisitions.
  • Depending on location, may transfer and move materials in heavy containers. Assists in packaging product for shipment and in loading/unloading product or raw materials.
  • Participates in scheduled safety meetings and completes safety training requirements.
  • May provide training and guidance to operators in training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Keeps work area safe and clean.

  • Able to read and interpret complex operating instructions. Basic knowledge of shop mathematics in order to read blueprints.

  • Organizational and record keeping skills. Familiarity with computers as a user.

  • Ability to remain calm and react effectively in critical situations.
  • Supports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Careยฎ Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001ยฎ technical specification, as applicable to the site/region.
  • High School diploma or equivalent. Additional course of study and licensing for chemical and/or power station operation required.
  • 5-7 years of chemical operation experience is required.
