Primary Objectives of Position

  • This role manages the telematics operations of the company with a strong focus on KPI management, data accuracy, and regional team coordination and communication. The position ensures accurate tracking of GPS / Telematics modules, maintains data integrity across FlexiVan and vendor systems, and collaborates closely with external partners to optimize system performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

GPS / Telecom Management

  1. Maintain the GPS install and Inventory sheets for up to date record keeping.
  1. Ensure the timely linking of GPS modules with vendor portals and FlexiVan systems.
  1. Monitor GPS activation and operational issues and coordinate with Field Operations and customers to resolve them.
  1. Track the health of Telematics devices across our fleet taking necessary corrective actions.
  1. Coordinate activities with Telematics vendors to ensure warranty and replacement obligations are being met.

Data Integrity

  1. Maintain the accuracy of entries between vendors’ data and FlexiVan systems
  1. Perform routine data accuracy checks of vendor systems and Flexivan systems as needed.
  1. Follow up on discrepancies between systems

GPS Telecom Activities

  1. Monitor all GPS hardware alerts from multiple sources and coordinate next step corrective actions.
  1. Investigate alerts and follow up with the necessary parties to get the tamper addressed
  1. Look for patterns in tampers and work with field operations to get repeat offenders addressed and determine reasons behind the tamper notifications.

Customer Service

  1. Monitor the group email address and respond to our customers and internal stakeholders.
  1. Ensure the all requests are addressed and feedback is given.

Container/Chassis Management

  1. Work with FlexiVan cross functional teams to increase the percentage of container/chassis marriage reporting.
  1. Leverage internal and available vendor systems to improve container/chassis marriage accuracy
  1. Look to develop new ways of improving efficiencies with the container capture

Engineering Specifications and Documentation

  1. Develop and maintain workflow and sop documentation of daily activities.
  1. Develop, maintain and distribute field facing documentation on proper installation, data entry, image capture and maintenance of telematics devices for field teams.

Landmarks, Geofences and other AIM360 requests

  1. Execute requests for geofence creation and adjustments
  1. Work with the BI team to identify new geofences / landmarks for creation, Telecom clarification or other requested information.
  1. Ensure accuracy across vendor and FlexiVan systems of landmarks and other Geo specific data.

Other Responsibilities

  1. Create reports and dashboards as needed for telematics review and as requested
  1. Maintain KPIs and objectives as assigned by the Manager of Engineering.
  1. Support cost reduction efforts relating to telematics operations when dealing with MNR and other needed repairs
  1. Work with vendors to help shape telematics’ hardware and software for future projects.
  1. Participate in special projects as assigned by Manager of Engineering

  • Minimum Education / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum Years of Relevant Experience
  • 1-3 years of working experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain
  • Mandatory Technical Skills
  • Office 365 suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, SharePoint
  • Microsoft Excel – ability to create worksheets, charts/graphs, data tables, pivot tables
  • PowerPoint – ability to create PowerPoint slides, insert graphics/images/shapes, animate slides
  • Other Preferred Skills:
  • Prior working experience in GPS / Telematics technologies
  • Prior working experience in Intermodal/Shipping domain
