Job description

Intuit's Legal, Compliance, and Policy Organization ("LCPO") is currently seeking a talented, well-versed, and experienced Compliance Manager to serve as a subject matter expert on consumer protection regulations. This role will focus on driving demonstrable compliance oversight for products and services subject to the Electronic Fund Transfer Act (Regulation E) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

The Consumer Protection Compliance Manager will be responsible for partnering with critical stakeholders to scale controls and processes that ensure adherence to consumer protection laws  while enabling operational velocity. If you are passionate about innovation, solving tough customer challenges, and leveraging compliance as a strategic advantage, then come join our team!

Responsibilities

Unified Compliance Oversight: Leverage deep subject matter expertise in both EFTA/Regulation E and FCRA to accelerate effective oversight functions. Ensure compliance with error resolution requirements, disclosure rules, data furnishing accuracy (Metro 2), and dispute reinvestigation timelines established by regulators.

Product Enablement: Partner closely with various business leaders, product managers, operations teams, and Legal and Compliance colleagues to provide regulatory guidance on new and existing products. Translate complex regulatory intersection points (e.g., money movement vs. credit reporting) into clear product requirements that minimize re-work and enable faster launches.

Risk & Customer Experience: Assess and advise on best practices to mitigate consumer harm and ensure a compliant customer experience related to electronic fund transfers, payment services, and credit reporting. Proactively identify 'pattern and practice' risks where payment errors could trigger downstream credit reporting liability.

Policy & Frameworks: Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and training materials related to Regulation E, FCRA, and other consumer protection regulations.

Reporting & Monitoring: Report emerging issues, regulatory changes, and risks to appropriate business and Legal and Compliance leaders. Manage the feedback loop between dispute data and product teams to solve root causes of recurring errors.

Qualifications

Experience: Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of consumer compliance experience, preferably in the FinTech or financial services industry. CRCM or similar certification highly preferred.

Domain Expertise: Deep expertise in consumer protection compliance (Reg E and FCRA), with a strong understanding of their application to innovative financial products.

Regulatory Breadth: Broad familiarity with other consumer financial protection laws and regulations (e.g., UDAAP, ECOA, TILA) and their intersection with FinTech products, including subscriptions and money movement.

Operational Scale: Proven experience building or enhancing Compliance Management Systems (CMS) and scaling internal controls to drive impactful results  in a high-velocity environment.

Communication: Proven ability to synthesize complex regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable guidance for cross-functional stakeholders. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills, with strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
