What You’ll Do

The Consumer Lending Indirect Underwriter is responsible for evaluating consumer loan applications to determine the creditworthiness of applicants applying for financing through indirect channels or third-party vendors. This role involves analyzing financial information, credit reports, and other relevant data to make informed lending decisions, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulations, and risk management practices. 

Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00am to 6:00 pm with one Saturday (8:00 am - 3 pm) monthly. Employee will receive one day off during the week when scheduled for a Saturday.

This opportunity is open to flexible work options including a hybrid or remote set up

Core Contributions

  • Analyze Loan Applications: Evaluate credit reports, application information, and financial documents to determine applicants’ ability to repay, ensuring all loan decisions comply with company policies and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with the underwriting team, sales teams, and senior management to ensure a smooth and efficient loan process.
  • Loan Recommendations: Provide recommendations for loan approval or denial to the Loan Review Committee or Underwriting Manager when applicable.
  • Dealer Relationships: Maintain and handle dealer relationships, ensuring effective communication and loan accuracy.
  • Fraud Detection: Identify potential fraud or misrepresentation in loan applications.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with dealers or other third-party vendors to clarify underwriting requirements and ensure loan accuracy.
  • Decision Making: Make loan decisions, answer phones, and respond to queries within established dealer service levels.

Assets You Will Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years in Consumer Underwriting, Consumer Lending, or a related field; experience collaborating with dealers is preferable.
  • Strong understanding of underwriting guidelines, credit risk assessment, and lending regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a high volume of loan applications.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Word; experience with LOS navigation (ARC system) and DNA.

  • Certifications: Lending Certified

The estimated salary for this role is $31.93 - $38.32 per hour. In addition to the salary or hourly rate listed above there may be other compensation & benefits available.
