Job description

Job Summary:
Alpha Consulting Corp. is seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe CICS/MQ Developer with extensive expertise in Mainframe application development. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Mainframe applications using CICS, COBOL, JCL, DB2, and MQ.
• Perform system analysis, technical design, coding, unit testing, and implementation activities.
• Develop and support online (CICS) and batch processing applications.
• Create and maintain technical documentation in accordance with organizational standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, performance bottlenecks, and system defects.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, code reviews, and release activities.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and development teams to deliver business solutions.
• Provide accurate effort estimates and status updates for assigned tasks.
• Ensure adherence to SDLC processes, coding standards, and best practices.
• Proactively learn and understand existing systems and business processes.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 10+ years of Mainframe development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with CICS and IBM MQ.
• Expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
• Experience with system analysis, design, development, and unit testing.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC processes.
• Experience using Jira, Confluence, and MS Office.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred:
• Knowledge of J2EE, Web Services, and cloud-based integrations.
• Experience integrating Mainframe applications with AWS environments.
• Domain experience in Retail Banking or Lending.
• Exposure to Mainframe modernization initiatives.
