Start Date: April 14, 2026
Position Overview
Crawford Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) for a contract role within the Consulting Services department. This position supports a variety of specialty areas, including Neurology, ENT, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Cardiology, and Urology.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, flexibility, and the ability to provide both direct and indirect patient care with minimal supervision. This role requires effective coordination with providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychosocial, and pain evaluations
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary screenings and ensure timely reassessments
  • Assist physicians with specialty procedures and operate related equipment
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and follow-up care
  • Administer medications in accordance with clinical standards and patient-specific needs
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic status, and respond appropriately to changes
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient documentation in the EMR system
  • Collaborate with consulting providers regarding patient status and diagnostic results
  • Follow established patient safety protocols and hand-off communication standards
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives
  • Provide cross-coverage across consulting specialties as needed
Qualifications
Licensure & Certifications:
  • Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience preferred
  • At least 2 years of Critical Care or Cardiac Care experience preferred
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
  • Proficiency in EMR systems (Cerner experience preferred)
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
