Our global team is a diverse group of experienced engineers, traders, and brokerage professionals who are working to achieve our mission of opening financial services to everyone on the planet. We're deeply committed to open-source contributions and fostering a vibrant community, continuously enhancing our award-winning, developer-friendly API and the robust infrastructure behind it.
Alpaca is proudly backed by $400 million in funding from top-tier global investors including Portage Ventures, Spark Capital, Tribe Capital, Social Leverage, Horizons Ventures, Opera Tech Ventures, SBI Group, Derayah Financial, Unbound, Peak XV, Elefund, and Y Combinator.
Our Team Members:
We're a dynamic team of 400+ globally distributed members who thrive working from our favorite places around the world, with teammates spanning the USA, Canada, Japan, Hungary, Nigeria, Brazil, the UK, and beyond!
We're searching for passionate individuals eager to contribute to Alpaca's rapid growth. If you align with our core values-Stay Curious, Have Empathy, and Be Accountable-and are ready to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply.
Your Role:
We're seeking a Product Manager, Accounts to own one core sub-surface of Alpaca's brokerage accounts domain end-to-end - KYC / identity verification, an account type (entity / joint / custodial / trust), sub-accounts / multi-accounts, or IRA cross-work. Partners and developers are your primary customers; you ship API-driven account capabilities that they actually adopt.
This role sits at the intersection of regulated product execution and developer experience. You'll go deep on one part of the accounts stack, shipping at production cadence in parallel with compliance and legal.
You'll work closely with engineering, broker-dealer operations, compliance, legal, partnerships, and the other PMs in the accounts area. Success is measured by partner adoption and production usage of your surface - not by ship dates or volume of documentation alone.
Things You Get To Do
  • Own one core accounts sub-surface end-to-end (KYC / identity verification, account types, sub-accounts / multi-accounts, or IRA cross-work) - drive prioritization, API design, and rollout inside your surface.
  • Run discovery with partners and prospects against real integration constraints, translate findings into a sequenced backlog for your surface, and push back on requests that don't fit the platform without over-promising.
  • Ship to production at the cadence of a high-growth platform - write clear PRDs, align with engineering on API contracts, and produce documentation partners can implement against.
  • Partner with compliance and legal on product decisions that touch licensing, KYC / AML, identity verification, and account-model design - comfortable shipping in parallel with them in a regulated environment.
  • Improve operational efficiency in your surface - exception handling, partner-facing tooling, automation of repetitive ops - and own the metrics.
  • Track adoption beyond GA - onboarding funnel health, API adoption, time-to-first-funded-account, verification pass rates, partner-reported blockers - and iterate on docs, SDK ergonomics, and rollout sequencing until your surface is actually being adopted.
  • Report timely and accurately on product status and results to internal and external stakeholders, including partners.

Who You Are (Must-Haves)
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Engineering, Consulting, or starting a startup - preferably in brokerage, fintech, payments, or identity / accounts infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated depth on at least one accounts surface - KYC / identity verification, account types, sub-accounts / multi-accounts, or IRA - shipped to production scale.
  • Experience shipping B2B / developer-facing products: SDKs, APIs, partner integrations where developers and partners are the primary customer, not just end users.
  • Comfort shipping in parallel with compliance and legal in a regulated environment.
  • Experience analyzing data using SQL and a relevant BI tool.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, finance, or equivalent.
  • Business acumen to weigh stakeholder, tech feasibility, time, and budget tradeoffs.

Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves)
  • Direct broker-dealer or institutional brokerage experience - Schwab, Fidelity, IBKR, Apex, Drivewealth, or correspondent-clearing equivalents.
  • Familiarity with the B2B2C correspondent / broker-as-a-service model - partners as primary customers, end retail customers downstream.
  • Experience with US accounts / identity regulatory frameworks - FINRA KYC / AML, FATCA, IRS entity rules, OFAC screening.
  • Experience with US retirement accounts (e.g., IRA ecosystem, rollovers) and/or non-US registered / tax-advantaged account types.
  • Experience unifying fragmented account or identity stacks behind consistent APIs and data models.
  • Background in broker-dealer operations (exceptions queues, document review, account maintenance) and automation opportunities.
  • AI-native PM workflow - recurring use of tools like Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, NotebookLM, or custom agents in PRD drafting, customer-call synthesis, data exploration, and prototyping.

How We Take Care of You:
  • Competitive Salary & Stock Options
  • Health Benefits
  • New Hire Home-Office Setup: One-time USD $500
  • Monthly Stipend: USD $150 per month via a Brex Card
