About the Role

The Principal Consulting Manager for the Professional Services Group within the Coplogic Solutions Business Unit leads managers and professional associates and is accountable for the performance, financial results, customer outcomes, and successful delivery of multiple related statewide projects. The role achieves results through a large cross-functional team and coaches Consulting Managers in developing project plans, establishing production and team priorities, managing risks and dependencies, and meeting customer commitments. The incumbent leads a cross-functional leadership team that recommends resource allocation decisions and executes statewide project plans in alignment with business objectives.

Responsibilities

Serves as the senior escalation point for assigned projects, makes timely decisions within established authority, and communicates portfolio performance, financial outlook, customer risks, delivery dependencies, and required leadership actions to senior executives.

Leadership and Organizational Culture:

  • Manages and influences multiple teams, providing leadership and direction through consulting managers, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Empowering the staff to be accountable and responsible for their own actions and decisions.
  • Mentors Consulting Managers on how to maintain a strategic, customer-driven perspective within their teams.
  • Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal and people leadership skills, with the ability to build trust, influence outcomes, and effectively manage teams composed of distinct personalities, working styles, perspectives and levels of experience.

Customer Interaction and Understanding:

  • Interact with customers frequently and understand their use cases and business in great depth.
  • Balances organizational needs with customer needs to drive adoption of the strategic plan with a focus on reusability and scalability by leveraging shared resources and knowledge
  • Expertly manages and coaches the teams to manage customer expectations by establishing clear commitments, communicating risks and tradeoffs, resolving concerns, and maintaining alignment throughout the engagement lifecycle
  • Is not afraid to push back professionally on customers to ensure and sustain agreements, deliveries, timeline and project scope

Key Performance Objectives (KPOs) and Financial Management:

  • Helps the team drive new upsell opportunities across his/her portfolio, as well as being fully aware of new build opportunities across assigned projects and states
  • Establishes accurate, ambitious, and relevant KPO for the team to measure individual and collective success
  • Ensures Consulting Managers are closely managing, tracking, monitoring and analyzing revenue, expenses, and profitability
  • Continually evaluating the efficiency of the project relating to resource need and allocations
  • Manage and support the budgeting process, including but not limited to Budget and Revised Forecast Process

Project Team Strategy and Development:

  • Owns the strategy, planning, and execution of the assigned projects
  • Manages the execution of cross-functional teams-including software engineers, project managers, business analysts, quality assurance professionals, and other application development specialists-to ensure aligned priorities, clear accountability, and successful delivery of project objectives
  • Ensures the team is effectively following product and software development processes, including strict adherence to the Coplogic Development Playbook
  • Builds and translates business strategies into actionable roadmaps, priorities, and measurable execution plans that align customer outcomes with organizational objectives

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Demonstrates a track record in driving process improvement initiatives that have long-term value to the business and/or the customer.
  • Leads a culture of innovation, encouraging others to question the status quo, as well as viable solutions to challenges
  • Passionately drives operational efficiency and effectiveness by simplifying processes, improving resource utilization, and establishing repeatable practices that deliver measurable business and customer value
  • Managing and encouraging new ideas from staff to foster improvements through innovations
  • Success in this role is measured by customer satisfaction, predictable delivery of project commitments, portfolio revenue and profitability, effective resource utilization, team performance and development, successful adoption of change, and sustained operational improvements.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Professional Services/Consulting/Leadership experience, particularly in mid to large-scale application development projects
  • Strong knowledge of the end-to-end application development lifecycle, including discovery, requirements, solution design, development, testing, deployment, production validation, support, and continuous improvement
  • Significant change management experience is a must, including assessing organizational impact, building stakeholder alignment, communicating change, managing resistance, and sustaining adoption across teams and customers.
  • Proven experience and understanding of the Agile and Scrum development methodologies utilizing Azure DevOps as the technical management platform
  • Experience in a leadership role with profit-and-loss responsibility
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex corporate environments, including governance, cross-functional decision-making, competing priorities, organizational dynamics, and effective engagement with senior leaders
  • Skilled in breaking down large complex issues into simpler elements that can be effectively, methodically and rapidly addressed
  • Highly skilled at communicating vision and big picture business scope
  • Undergraduate degree in relevant field, including but not limited to Business Administration, Project Management, Management of Information Systems, Finance, Organizational Leadership or equivalent
  • Master's Degree a plus
U.S. National Base Pay Range: $115,400 - $192,300. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. If performed in New York, the base pay range is $126,900 - $211,500.If performed in New York City, the base pay range is $138,400 - $230,700.If performed in Rochester, NY, the base pay range is $115,400 - $192,300.If performed in New Jersey, the base pay range is $136,213 - $217,587. This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
