Job Details

This role is in support of Good Neighbor Pharmacy, a Cencora business supporting a network of independently owned pharmacies in the US.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instruction and Expertise: Serve as an instructor and subject matter expert, providing expert advice, guidance, and feedback on independent pharmacy store operations and business strategies. Offer specialized consultation to other business coaching team members and their clients as needed, including ad hoc independent pharmacy consultative work when available.

  • Coordination: Collaborate with assigned Business Coaching Coordinator and business coaching leadership to ensure effective customer coverage and communication.

  • Customer Relationship Management: Enhance customer retention and engagement by developing productive business relationships, understanding customers' strategic objectives, and influencing their decision-making processes to drive profitability.

  • Client Interaction: Execute complex processes and engage in client-facing situations by identifying key leverage points within each pharmacy to ensure full commitment from the customer.

  • CRM Management: Continuously maintain and update coaching activities within the CRM system to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.

  • Report Preparation: Compile pharmacy data to prepare, format, and distribute necessary reports, assisting in the creation of an informative portfolio.

  • Results-Driven Approach: Drive results by aligning opportunities with specific customer needs, diagnosing challenges, and supporting the implementation of targeted solutions.

  • Program Management: Oversee all aspects of programs to effectively communicate information, instructions, and objectives.

  • Operational Analysis: Identify potential weaknesses within pharmacy operations by addressing existing issues in basic functional areas.

  • Customer Needs Assessment: Work closely with Business Coaching Coordinator to assess customer needs through various profiles and segment pharmacies accordingly.

  • Implementation Guidance: Guide in-store implementations and collaborate with relevant personnel to ensure successful execution.

  • Market Knowledge: Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the independent retail pharmacy market, including industry trends, competitive intelligence, and challenges faced by customers.

  • Leadership Feedback: Provide leadership with insights on industry intelligence and specific recommendations for managing individual programs, policies, products, and pricing to meet corporate objectives.

  • Concept Development: Create and implement new concepts, maintaining awareness of competitive activities and escalating relevant information as necessary.

  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the Business Coaching program.

  • Representation: Represent business coaching programs and solutions at meetings and other events.

  • Travel Requirements: Be willing to travel up to 75% or more (including overnight trips) within the assigned customer base and geographic territory, as well as attend conferences and national, regional, or local trade conventions.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor's Degree Program; normally requires a minimum of seven (7) years industry experience and/or directly related and progressively responsible experience.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced knowledge of the retail pharmacy industry including trends and challenges facing customers Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and adapt communication style to various audiences 3.Ability to actively listen and influence others with different points of view

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of value, profit, and budgeting

  • Advanced knowledge of techniques to improve profitability of a small business

  • Proven successful business tactics; credible image in the industry; good marketing skills

  • Ability to forecast, set goals, and train others

  • Knowledge of product and customer service standards for independent retail pharmacy business

  • Advanced analytical and probing skills, including proficiency in related computer programs such as MIcrosoft Office

  • Strong presentation skills
