Estimator Position Description

Job posting

Position title: Residential Remodeling and Construction Estimator

Overview

Greenleaf Construction is a residential remodeling and construction company committed to high quality craftsmanship and excellent customer experience throughout Baltimore County and Baltimore City. We’re looking for an estimator for our residential projects which can range from kitchen and bathroom renovations to new custom homes.

The candidate should have proven residential estimating experience, broader knowledge about residential construction and remodeling, and be committed to developing themselves professionally. 

Duties

●      Schedule appointments and meet with clients in their homes to review architectural plans and designs and develop solutions and proposals based on their needs.

o   Most projects are within 30 minutes of our offices in Hampden

●      Estimating is done as a team with salesperson with some estimates done independently

●      Write proposal using Greenleaf’s estimating software.

●      Schedule and meet trade partners in clients’ homes to get estimates.

●      Work with clients, architects, designers, and trades to value-engineer proposals as needed.

●      Manage pre-construction phase (handoff to production team and pre-construction meeting with client and production team)

●      Order materials with long lead times such as windows/ doors, cabinetry, special order items

●      Create preliminary project schedules where necessary

●      Hybrid: Work from home and office 3 days per week until fully independent

●      Answer questions from project managers and occasionally clients about the estimate during construction

●      Maintain up to date knowledge of product offerings and pricing from vendors

●      Maintain CRM

●      Measurements and take offs for estimating purposes

●      Attend company team building activities, select networking events as necessary, trainings

Qualifications

●      Commitment to a high level of detail

●      Ability to work and communicate well with others.

●      At least 5 years’ experience with residential remodeling estimating

●      Ability to read and work from plans.

●      Ability to work with estimating software, spreadsheets

●      Clean driving record (at least the past 3 years).

●      College degree preferred although not necessary

●      Some field work preferred but not necessary
