Job Summary

Southern Industrial Constructors Inc. is looking for a Construction Manager to work out of our Raleigh, NC office.ย  The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the construction process for industrial projects. This includes managing construction crews, scheduling and coordinating subcontractors, overseeing project budgets, and ensuring that all work is completed on time and within budget. The Construction Manager is also responsible for ensuring that all work meets or exceeds industry standards for safety, quality, and building code compliance. They should have strong management skills, as well as a thorough understanding of construction processes and an ability to read and interpret blueprints. Furthermore, good communication and negotiation skills are essential, as well as the ability to lead and motivate teams to reach the project goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Actively promotes and strengthens our core values and culture of Mission First, People Always through everyday actions and decisions.
  • Set expectations and standards that ensure we maintain excellence in safety - always.
  • Executing projects per SIC SOP's and training others on your team how to use these processes and tools.
  • Managing and coordinating construction crews and subcontractors to ensure that all work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Overseeing project budgets and making adjustments as necessary to keep the project on track.
  • Ensuring that all work meets or exceeds industry standards for safety, quality, and building code compliance.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and other construction documents to ensure that all work is done according to specifications.
  • Managing and maintaining accurate records of project progress, including daily reports, timesheets, and other documentation.
  • Maintaining effective communication with all project stakeholders, including owners, architects, engineers, and other members of the construction team.
  • Developing and maintaining a project schedule and working with the project team to ensure that all deadlines are met.
  • Managing the procurement of materials and equipment for the project, and ensuring that all materials and equipment are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Providing leadership and direction to the construction team, motivating team members to reach the project goals.
  • Resolving issues and conflicts that arise during the construction process and working with the project team to find solutions.
  • Coordinating with local authorities and other regulatory bodies to ensure that all necessary permits and inspections are completed and that the project is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Continuously monitoring and assessing the progress of the project and providing regular updates to the project team and stakeholders.
  • Travels to jobsites on a regular basis to oversee projects.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the ASME Codes and other codes and standards which govern the repair, replacement and modification activities associated with the power generation industry.
  • Individual must be familiar with receipt inspection process, welding processes, welder and weld procedure qualification process.
  • Individual must be capable of being certified Level II VT, PT, MT & UTT methods and mechanical inspection activities. Previous certification is required.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
