MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced Construction Safety Consultant located in Chicago, IL. Our client is an Electricity and natural gas provider industry Leader looking for high-quality talent to make a difference. Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Safety Consultant to support construction operations and promote a strong safety culture across field projects. This role will partner with project teams, contractors, and leadership to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, company standards, and industry best practices.

The Safety Consultant will provide guidance on construction safety programs, conduct audits and inspections, deliver training, analyze safety performance trends, and support incident prevention initiatives.

Responsibilities

Promote and support a proactive safety culture across construction and field operations.

Interpret and apply occupational health and safety regulations and industry standards.

Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs, policies, and procedures.

Conduct field audits, inspections, observations, and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to safety requirements.

Monitor contractor safety performance and provide recommendations for improvement.

Review incident investigations and support corrective and preventive action planning.

Analyze safety metrics and performance indicators to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and project teams.

Participate in safety committees, meetings, and project reviews.

Provide consultation regarding safety equipment, safe work practices, and regulatory compliance.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to address safety-related concerns and support project objectives.

Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and safety records.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

Equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant construction safety experience may be considered.

Minimum 3–5 years of experience supporting safety programs within construction, industrial, utility, infrastructure, or related environments.

Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.

Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.

Experience working with contractors and multiple project stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a dynamic environment.

Valid driver's license required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.

Utility, energy, industrial, or heavy construction experience.

Professional safety certifications such as CHST, OHST, CSP, OSHA 30, OSHA 500/510, or equivalent.
