Field Safety and Quality Specialist - Decatur, IL
ADM Carb Solutions Division
This is a full-time, hourly, mid-level to top position, depending on experience.
Pay Rate: $31.43 - $37.19/hour based on experience
Shift: 1st Shift Mon-Fri 6am-2:30pm plus opportunity for overtime
Job Summary:
This role will be a working Safety and Quality person for a small groups of professional Millwrights and Welder-Pipe Fitters, reporting to the Field Supervisor and dotted line reporting to ADM Mechanical Safety Manager and ADM Mechanical Quality Manager. Working at various ADM Decatur complex locations doing installation of capital projects and repair work as needed. Field Safety-Quality Person maintains ADM's high standards for Safety and Quality for all colleagues. Successful candidates will be able to professionally communicate with all levels of ADM colleagues, vendors and contractors. They will have the ability to identify safety and quality issues and guide the Millwrights and Welder- Pipe Fitters to safely and to successfully finish projects with the greatest quality.
Job Responsibilities
Production:
  • Work alongside team members guiding safety and ensuring that all safety rules are being followed.
  • Understanding Quality procedures and techniques for new fabrication construction and fabrication repair
  • Work with Field Supervisor and the Location Safety and Quality Professionals on project directions and completion needs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment documentation
  • Document completed work, equipment changes, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure that all team members work safely and efficiently to complete Safe, high quality, cost competitive projects.
Health, Safety & Environmental:
  • Facilitate and ensure adherence to safety laws, regulations, rules and sound practices.
  • Work with Mechanical or Location Health, Safety & Environmental on all questions or issues.
  • Ensure the unsafe behaviors and conditions are corrected and reported immediately.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong Mechanical and Welding Fitting background with general construction knowledge a plus.
  • Familiarity with ASME Section 8, Div 1 code standards
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and willingness and desire to lead ADM Safety Standards
  • Ability to prioritize ongoing work task.
  • Solid problem solving skills with the ability to know when get help.
Required Management Skills:
  • Must have a strong commitment to safety.
  • Must have confident and courteous manner.
  • Position requires standing and walking for long periods, climbing stairs and ladders, working with tools, working within close-confined spaces, and working within extreme temperatures.
  • Must have good communications skills.
