Position Summary:
Responsible for pro-actively driving, managing and measuring the sales efforts of the distributor Key Construction Specialists (KCS) community in support of winning construction projects throughout the region. Coordinating both Distributor and Corporate resources to maximize product sales across the complete Swagelok product basket. Initiates sales activities presents proposals and sells the value of Swagelok's offering. Consults with identified Distributorship Key Construction Specialists (KCS) and supports them and their distributorship in their development of key competencies in construction selling in support of their efforts to win local projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
A. Drive and coordinate sales activities of construction projects located in the identified region.
  • Closely coordinate all activities necessary to support a Swagelok specification win and utilization on focus projects throughout the region.
  • Communicate and promote Swagelok policies, programs, strategic alignment with Swagelok's marketing direction, and philosophy.
  • Assist distributors with end customer related issues including sales calls, end customer relationships, order/quotation expedites, service/supply chain issues as related to nominated projects.

B. Business Administration and Sales Planning
  • Help create tailored value propositions, where appropriate, for each nominated project throughout the region.
  • Provide market and project data to support strategic sales planning and accurate forecasting.
  • Evaluate sales opportunities and ensure that the projects being pursued represent the best use of the available resources.
  • Support the population and use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) knowledge sharing platforms and collaboration tools as provided in order to enhance the Communication, Collaboration and Coordination across the Global Construction Community for improved knowledge sharing and win rate.
  • Provide timely and accurate project updates for all projects on global 'focus' list and provide presentation data for quarterly S&OP meetings.

C. Provide Sales and Training Support
  • Create, facilitate and present training programs for the global construction sales team.
  • Support all training efforts and conduct training/sales meetings, as needed.
  • Plan and host customer tours.
  • Work with identified Distributor construction specialist in their designated region to enhance their capabilities and talents in managing and selling to construction projects
  • Support all construction sales training programs offered by the SCPC team to the Swagelok Distributor Network
  • Support Alliances and Key Accounts.
  • Support Regional Tech Center activities.

D. Market Research
  • Gather market, product, and competitive intelligence and share with customers, distributors and Swagelok.
  • Provide input from new construction market to Swagelok to provide appropriate representation on industry standard committees/lobby organizations.
  • Identify global trends within construction industry and provide data to product managers.
  • Develop a clear understanding of the local needs of operators
  • Support in Identifying and establishing approved Swagelok products with owner / operator companies

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's Degree is required
Language:
English - Advanced
Proficiency in language of the identified region
Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years' experience with a demonstrated understanding of business management, deep understanding of fluid system applications, experience in large project construction sales including sales to project job sites, owner operators & EPCs
Critical Competencies:
Influence, initiative, organizational awareness, adaptability and self awareness.
Job Capabilities: Technical knowledge of Swagelok's products and services; knowledge of Swagelok's key markets; financial and business acumen, strategic thinking; excellent communication and negotiations skills; Contract, terms & conditions familiarity presentation skills; in addition to English, local language skills; and an understanding of the regional business and social cultures.

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
