Job description

Construction Manager - Bowen CCR Project Site 

JOB SUMMARY 

The successful candidate will assume the roles and responsibilities of Construction Manager - Bowen Site. This position will be responsible for the following: - Establishing and maintaining a positive work culture. Management and oversite of onsite resources and daily activities in support of successful scope development, implementation and project closeout phases of the Bowen Ash Pond Closure project (and other site projects as necessary), using the Project Delivery Process and measured by achieving required project performance in safety, quality, schedule, cost, scope, and risk. - Provide input into contracting strategy and help establish and track performance against baseline schedule and budget. 

This includes developing project constructability plans. Overall management of onsite contractors and administration of their contracts using appropriate field resources. Providing overall performance management and on-the-job training for T&PS Construction leadership staff. The construction site manager will perform all duties in accordance with T&PS Roles and Responsibilities documents and ensure each member of the Construction management staff performs accordingly.

  • Assist administrative and construction staff in managing all change management functions 
  • Assist in the development and dissemination of critical project statistical information (i.e. material quantities installed, man hours worked, early v. late start, budget analysis, etc.) 
  • Assist in the development of bid packages, conduct pre-bid meetings and evaluate bids.
  • Analyze problems for solutions and coordinate corrective action with engineers, vendors
  • and the Contractor. 

EDUCATION & JOB EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Building Science or Construction Management preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years construction and/or extensive plant maintenance/outage experience required 
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects, priorities and planning initiatives. - Demonstrated track record leading teams to achieve superior results.
