Job description

We are seeking dependable and hardworking Skilled Construction Laborers to join our team in Bessemer, Alabama. The ideal candidate has experience working on commercial and/or industrial construction projects and is comfortable performing a variety of physical tasks while assisting skilled trades and superintendents. This position offers steady work with opportunities to grow within the company.

Responsibilities
  • Perform general construction labor on commercial and industrial job sites.
  • Assist carpenters, electricians, plumbers, concrete crews, and other skilled trades as needed.
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Clean and prepare job sites, removing debris and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and perform grading or site preparation.
  • Assemble and dismantle temporary structures, barricades, and scaffolding when required.
  • Measure, cut, and install basic building materials under supervision.
  • Follow project plans, supervisor instructions, and OSHA safety standards.
  • Complete other duties as assigned to support project completion. Construction laborers commonly perform site preparation, operate hand and power tools, assist skilled trades, and maintain safe work areas.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of construction labor experience preferred.
  • Experience on commercial, industrial, or civil construction projects is a plus.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Experience with demolition, framing, concrete, excavation, or general site work is preferred.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and follow basic construction drawings is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-focused.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Comfortable performing physically demanding work throughout the day.
