Overview

Next 150 Construction is seeking a Construction Superintendent II. Theย Constructionย Superintendent IIย supports project field operations byย assistingย with the coordination of assigned trade contractors and field activities, ensuring work is performedย in accordance withย approved scope, safety requirements, quality standards, and schedule expectations. This roleย operatesย with limited supervision and supports daily planning, documentation, and execution activities.ย 

Responsibilities

This roleย assistsย with safety enforcement, quality control inspections, and field coordination, and works closely with senior field leadership to support efficient, compliant, and well-organized jobsite operations.ย 

  • Coordinates assigned trade contractors and field activities to supportย adherence to approved schedules, budgets, and work plansย 
  • Reviews and works in strict accordance with contract documents, drawings, and specifications for assigned scopesย 
  • Remains informed of all assigned field activities and monitors work in progress to ensure compliance with approved work plans;ย maintainsย accurateย daily field reports, safety documentation, and records using requiredย construction management and safety operationsย systemsย 
  • Supports all field safety efforts;ย assistsย with safety orientations;ย conducts safetyย observations and audits;ย enforces safety and quality control policies within assigned scopes and escalates concerns to senior field leadershipย 
  • Attends andย participatesย in project meetings asย requiredย to support coordination and communicationย 
  • Tracks production, labor hours, and productivity metrics for assigned scopes and reports variancesย 
  • Supports self-performanceย operations, workforce planning, and quantification of labor, materials, and equipment needs for assigned scopesย 
  • Assistsย with forecasting labor and material needs and supports cost-of-work tracking asย required; supports material procurement, delivery coordination, and siteย logisticsย activitiesย 
  • Establishes andย maintainsย credibility with Owners, trade contractors, unions, and field personnel through professional, fair, and consistent conductย 
  • Assistsย with onboarding and training activitiesย 
  • Manages daily reporting, documentation, and cost tracking inย finance and construction management softwareย 
  • Assistsย in resolving jurisdictional disputes and field-level issues within assigned scopesย 
  • Implements and supports sustainability and environmental compliance initiatives within assigned scopesย 
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's orย Master's degree in Engineering or Construction Managementย 
  • 3+ years' experience leading crews of 20-25+ craft in a superintendent capacity, 5-8 years construction experienceย 

  • Superintendent experience on projects of total value $20 million - $50 million+

  • Ability to Travel locally around the DMV area if needed

  • OSHA 30 hour certifiedย 
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experienceย 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong technical and communication skillsย ย 
  • Strong labor relations with union and non-union engagementย 
  • Excellent organizational skillsย ย 
  • Ability to work in a team environmentย ย 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office,ย safety and site operations software, andย construction management softwareย 
  • Knowledge of construction-documentingย and drawing, with knowledge of all phases of constructionย ย 
  • Knowledgeย in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling,ย costย controlย and forecastingย 
  • Ability to create a "safety first" environment by showing a commitment to Zero Injury principles and sustainability practices

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

For the Maryland this ranges from $80,000.00 - $112,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.

For the Arlington, VA this ranges from $86,000.00 - $124,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
