Summary/objective

As a Commercial Construction Laborer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the safety and structural integrity of buildings by expertly applying fireproofing materials. Working collaboratively with a team of construction professionals, you will ensure that all fireproofing projects are completed in compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.

Essential functions

Material Preparation:

• Prepare fireproofing materials in strict accordance with manufacturer specifications. • Accurately measure and mix materials to achieve the required consistency.

• Safely and efficiently transport materials to the worksite.

Site Preparation & Maintenance:

• Assist in setting up scaffolding, ladders, and other necessary equipment.

• Assist with unloading materials and organizing stock as needed.

• Install protective barriers and coverings to shield surrounding areas from overspray.

• Clean and prepare surfaces to ensure optimal adhesion of fireproofing materials.

• Ensure that all work areas are free from hazards and comply with safety regulations.

• Place "Slippery When Wet" signs and caution tape in areas affected by spraying to ensure safety.

• Perform daily cleanup of overspray, trash, and debris to maintain a clean and safe work

environment.

• Properly dispose of waste in the designated GC-provided dumpster.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Clean and maintain spray equipment, hoses, and tools after each use.

• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment issues and report them to supervisors.

• Follow proper storage protocols to extend the lifespan of tools and materials.

Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.

• Consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, gloves, and safety goggles.

• Participate in safety training sessions and toolbox talks to remain current on safety protocols.

Team Collaboration:

• Communicate clearly and efficiently with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth project execution, demonstrating a strong ability to follow instructions.

• Assist colleagues with additional construction-related tasks as needed, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

• Actively seek guidance and feedback from senior team members to continuously develop and enhance skills.

Physical demands

• Exposure to working outdoors in varying environments, including high heat, cold temperatures, and other weather-related conditions.

Travel required

• Up to 90%.

Preferred education and experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Prior experience in construction or related field preferred.

• Familiarity with fireproofing materials and application techniques is a plus.

• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license/ID and reliable transportation to and from job sites.

Work authorization/security clearance requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (citizenship or valid work visa required).

• U.S. Citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.

• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Confidential/Secret/Top Secret/SCI security clearance (if applicable).
