Job description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Field Estimator / Project Supervisor to join our team. This position is responsible for visiting job sites, reviewing project requirements, creating estimates, reading blueprints, overseeing installation quality, and ensuring projects are completed according to company standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, be comfortable working both in the field and office environment, and have proficiency with Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.


Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Project Management

  • Visit and check on residential job site/ projects -- ensure on track and kept tidy
  • Prepare accurate job estimates and proposals.
  • Learn company products, materials, and installation methods to provide accurate pricing and recommendations.
  • Review project specifications and communicate project requirements to installation crews.
  • Enter estimates, proposals, and job information into QuickBooks.
  • Maintain and update estimating spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.


Field Supervision

  • Drive a company vehicle to job sites throughout the service area.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure installations meet company quality standards.
  • Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with installers, subcontractors, and project managers to resolve field issues.
  • Ensure job sites remain safe, organized, and professional.
  • Document project progress and communicate updates to management.


Blueprint Reading

  • Review and interpret blueprints, floor plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Verify measurements and scope of work against project drawings.
  • Identify potential issues before installation begins.


Qualifications

  • Previous experience in flooring or a related field preferred (no required).
  • Construction knowledge is required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
