Position Overview
The Crushing Plant Laborer plays an important role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of ARI's portable crushing plants. This hands-on position assists with plant operations, maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and general site support to help keep production running safely and efficiently. The Crushing Plant Laborer is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and productive work environment while supporting the day-to-day activities of the crushing crew.
This role works primarily on the ground around crushing equipment and heavy machinery. Team members assist with routine maintenance, plant moves, inspections, and day-to-day operational tasks while working closely with experienced operators and supervisors.
This position travels with ARI's portable crushing plants, which are typically stationed throughout the Creswell, Salem, Silverton, and Roseburg, Oregon areas.
The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in hard work, and has a strong mechanical aptitude. Previous crushing experience is not required. The company is willing to develop and train individuals who demonstrate a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.

Schedule:
  • Full-time; frequent travel required, typically Monday through Friday with lodging provided near job sites.

Compensation
  • Typical annual earnings: $70,000 - $100,00 per year.

Job Requirements/ Qualifications
  • Construction Experience: Previous construction experience required, preferably with exposure to heavy equipment and materials handling environments.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to assist with maintenance tasks, inspections, and minor repairs of crushing equipment and support machinery.
  • Driver License: Valid driver’s license with a driving record that includes no more than 3 moving violations and/or chargeable accidents in the last 3 years and no DUIIs.
  • Travel: Ability and willingness to travel away from home during the workweek (typically Monday–Friday).
  • Background Check: Required through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in compliance with federal government restrictions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Plant Operations Support: Assist with the day-to-day operation of the portable crushing plant by supporting production activities and helping maintain material flow.
  • Plant Maintenance: Assist with routine maintenance activities including greasing equipment, cleaning components, replacing wear parts, and supporting repairs as directed.
  • Equipment Inspections: Assist with daily inspections of equipment and work areas to identify safety concerns, maintenance needs, or operational issues.
  • Material Cleanup and Housekeeping: Remove material spillage, shovel around conveyors and equipment, maintain walkways, and help keep the crushing spread clean, organized, and production-ready.
  • Plant Relocation Support: Assist with the setup, teardown, transportation, and relocation of portable crushing equipment between project locations.
  • Learning and Development: Participate in on-the-job training to develop knowledge of crushing operations, equipment maintenance, and aggregate production processes.
  • Worksite Housekeeping: Keeps the work area clean, organized, and aligned with safety expectations.
  • Crew Support: Work closely with Crushing Plant Operators and supervisors to support production goals and maintain efficient operations.
  • Safety Commitment: Maintains a safety-first mindset and consistently follows all safety policies, procedures, and regulations to help ensure a safe work environment for self and others.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties to contribute to the company's overall success.

Physical Demands
  • Extended Work Hours: Frequently working 12–14-hour workdays.
  • Physical Endurance: Standing, kneeling, and climbing for extended periods.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 75 lbs.
  • Repetitive Motion: Frequent use of tools, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
