Position Summary 

The Mechanical Estimator & Assistant Project Manager plays a key role in supporting the preconstruction and operations teams. This position is responsible for developing accurate HVAC and plumbing estimates while assisting in the coordination and execution of construction projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with project requirements. 


Essential Functions 

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: 


Estimating 

Prepare detailed HVAC and plumbing estimates for residential and light commercial construction projects. 

Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate takeoffs and pricing. 

Work with the sales team to develop proposals, scope of clarifications, and bid submissions. 

Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing to ensure competitive estimates. 

Assist in value engineering and cost analysis to improve project profitability. 


Project Management Support 

Assist Project Managers with project kickoff, scheduling, and coordination of mechanical scopes. 

Track submittals, equipment orders, and material deliveries to ensure timely project progression. 

Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain scope alignment. 

Monitor project budgets against estimates and identify cost variances. 

Assist with preparation and tracking of RFIs, change orders, and project documentation. 

Participate in project meetings and maintain clear documentation of action items. 

Support closeout processes including as-builts, O&M manuals, and final documentation. 


Other Responsibilities 

Perform additional duties as assigned to support the estimating and project management teams. 


Minimum Qualifications 

2–5 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, estimating, or construction coordination. 

Strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes. 

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. 

Strong organizational and communication skills. 

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software. 

Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
