• Conduct comprehensive crisis assessments and interventions for clients experiencing acute mental health emergencies.
• Provide immediate counseling and therapeutic support to individuals in distress, employing evidence-based practices.
• Coordinate effectively with law enforcement and emergency responders to ensure the safety and well-being of all clients.
• Develop personalized crisis intervention plans and deliver consistent follow-up care to promote ongoing stability and recovery.
• Utilize advanced crisis intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques to navigate complex situations and enhance client safety.
• Pursue continuous professional development opportunities to refine crisis counseling skills and stay up-to-date with best practices in the field.

Your primary focus will be working with clients suffering from substance use disorders and related mental health conditions. This includes individuals facing emotional crises, trauma-related challenges, and those at risk of self-harm. You will be instrumental in restoring their sense of stability and hope by providing compassionate, culturally sensitive care tailored to their unique backgrounds and experiences.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution or university.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in New York.
• A minimum of 3 years of recent counseling experience, particularly in crisis intervention and mental health support.

• Additional training or credentials in crisis counseling and trauma-informed approaches.
• Experience working with diverse populations in immediate mental health crisis situations.
• Proven ability to conduct rapid assessments and manage crisis situations effectively.
• Strong communication skills to establish rapport with clients in distress and create a safe therapeutic environment.
