Job description

Primary Responsibilities * Maintain the configuration management plan that outlines the processes, standards, and tools used for managing configurations across our diverse DoD network. * Support the change management process by participating in requesting, evaluating, approving and implementing changes to the configuration items (CIs) such as servers, routers, and circuit data. * Ensure all CIs are properly labeled and identified in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). * Receive, track and analyze change requests (CRs) in our ServiceNow environment, ensuring proper documentation and approvals. * Monitor the progress of approved changes to ensure they are implemented correctly. * Independently conduct periodic audits of CIs to verify they conform to the established baseline and standards. * Identify, document, and report discrepancies between the auto-discovered configurations and documented configurations. * Prepare and present audit reports to management, highlighting key findings and corrective recommendations. * Contribute with development and maintenance of ServiceNow dashboards representing baseline CIs across DISN. * Assist with process documents to ensure documentation stays current and reflects best practices. * Contribute to the development and improvement of CM processes and procedures. Required Qualifications: * Security Clearance: A current and active DoD Secret security clearance is required to be considered for this position. * Experience & Education: Requires 1-3 years of direct experience in Configuration Management or a related IT field. A Bachelor’s degree is a plus, but equivalent professional experience will be strongly considered. * ITSM Knowledge: Basic understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles and prior experience using an ITSM tool, with ServiceNow experience being a significant plus. * Technical Foundation: Solid understanding of networking concepts. * Professional Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and proven problem-solving abilities. * Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. * Tools: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). * Location: This position is based on-site at Scott AFB, Illinois. All work must be performed on site. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Commitment to obtaining Security+ certification (or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT II certification) within a specified timeframe. * ITIL Foundation Certification. * Interest in developing skills related to ServiceNow reporting and dashboards.
