Pay Grade/Pay Range:  Minimum: $44,200 - Midpoint: $55,300 (Salaried E6)


Department/Organization: 500002 - Bryant Conference Center


Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; Varies, including nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by conference center operations and emergency response requirements.


Job Summary: The Manager of Bryant Conference Center Facilities manages the maintenance and custodial staff. Develops strategic plans for facility operations and logistics.


Additional Department Summary: Oversees all aspects of the Bryant Conference Center's operations, positioning it as a premier conference facility serving the University of Alabama and external clients. Provides facilities and project management oversight. Represents the Bryant Conference Center with vendors, contractors, and external stakeholders. Manages technicians and support staff while maintaining the highest standards of service delivery for 3,000+ annual events.
Must have flexibility to work irregular schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by conference center operations and emergency response requirements. Must be available for on-call responsibilities 24/7/365.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of experience; OR Master's degree and two (2) years of experience.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.


Skills and Knowledge: Understanding of building systems, AV technology, customer service excellence, and business operations within a higher education environment. Strategic planning capabilities. Comprehensive understanding of audio-visual equipment, event production technology, and integrated conference facility systems. Proficiency in budget management systems (Banner), project management software, and facilities management information systems. Strong leadership skills with ability to supervise teams across multiple specialized functions. Excellent customer service orientation with ability to manage high-profile events and stakeholder relationships.


Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in business administration, facilities management, operations management, or hospitality management. Four (4) years of supervisory experience. Operations or facilities management experience. Budget management experience. Professional certifications in facilities management (CFM, FMP) or project management (PMP). Experience in higher education or conference/hospitality industry. Expertise in AV technology integration.
