Conference Support Specialist - Lockheed Martin Global Vision Center, Crystal City, VA
About the Role
Step into a pivotal role as a Conference Support Specialist at Lockheed Martin's Global Vision Center (GVC), a premier corporate meeting and collaboration facility. You will be instrumental in delivering seamless events for high-profile guests including industry leaders, government officials, and international delegations. This is a part-time, contingent position with a dynamic schedule that supports your work-life balance.
Responsibilities
- Execute timely catering pickups, meal setups, and breakdowns for meetings and events, including high-visibility receptions and working meals.
- Prepare daily coffee service in common areas, replenish supplies, and ensure beverage stations are spotless and fully stocked.
- Set up and configure conference rooms, modular spaces, and event areas-including tables, chairs, registration stations, and speaker panels-for groups ranging from 5 to 200 attendees.
- Maintain accurate inventory of beverage and service supplies; promptly communicate replenishment needs.
- Manage GVC linen readiness, coordinate with vendors, and ensure organized storage and presentation.
- Perform light housekeeping duties: clean surfaces, vacuum, and keep kitchens and storage areas organized.
- Participate in daily team calls to review event plans and ensure flawless execution.
- Serve as backup support for demonstration center setup as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years' experience in hospitality, events, or customer service.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
- Reliable team player who thrives with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills
- ServSafe Certification.
- Experience with conference/banquet setups.
- Proactive approach, diplomatic communication, and grace under pressure.
- Personable, engaging, and committed to exceptional service.
