THE AVAILABILITY OF THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON SUFFICIENT FUNDING AND ENROLLMENT

 

TITLE:  Group Leaders/Trainees & Substitute Group Leaders/Trainees for MPS Rangers Club (Gr. K-8) Before-School and After-School Programs

Before-School Program hours: varies between Mon. through Fri. 7:00 a.m.-8:15 a.m. 

After-School Program hours: varies between Mon. through Fri. 2:15 p.m.- 4:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.

Additional hours may be required for planning and as needed by the site Program Coordinator, Asst. Coordinators, or the Program Manager of Community Programs or his designee. Hours not to exceed 28 hours/week on average. Rangers Club to run through the school year, including, open houses, professional development days, parent conference days, all other half days & delayed openings, and winter and spring recesses. 

    

DATE OF OPENING:  August 24, 2026

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  2. Prior experience as out-of-school-time, team-oriented group leader or staff preferred
  3. Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills, and attendance record
  4. Successful experience working collaboratively with others, preferably educators
  5. Successful experience working with K-8 students
  6. Ability to have a flexible schedule
  7. Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for some of the above qualifications
  8. CPR/First Aid preferred

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist coordinators or group leaders in all aspects of the program for K-8 students, e.g., development of program curriculum, handling supplies and materials, etc.
  2. Lead/co-lead program groups
  3. Meet with the coordinators to discuss program/student issues; must be team-oriented
  4. Assist with food program and parent drop-offs & pick-ups
  5. Maintain communications with coordinators/group leaders; excellent attendance required
  6. Assist coordinators in keeping required records and reports accurately and in a timely manner
  7. Participate in orientations, planning/monthly meetings, workshops, days, delayed openings, winter & spring recesses, and parent conference days, as required by prog. coordinators/administrators
  8. Workshops are scheduled for Tuesday, November 3rd. Attendance is required
  9. Perform other duties as required by Program Coordinator, Asst. Coordinators, the Asst. Program Manager, & the Program Manager of Community Programs, or her designee

SALARY:   $16 - $22/hr. depending upon education & experience
